bet you my hippo VB on three crush your atrios! boii

You haven't heard the Atrios, have you?

Anyways: My Pro900 arrived today!

First impression, straight out of the box: BASS! MAN these things are bass monsters! I thought I was ready for it, but it's insane. Soundstage, both width and depth is down right impressive as well. Vocals are tinny and a bit distant, highs are shrill. Burn-in has been initiated, can't wait to see how these change :)

Yea they tame down some, but they are very "crisp", and too much for some.  My silver dragon cable smoothed them out also, but it costs $250.

5 hours of burn in and the bass seems to have tightened up slightly. Still VERY deep, I've never heard bass like this before.

Just wanted to share my burn-in file: http://www.sorensiim.dk/stuff/Burn-in2.mp3

4 minutes of pink noise, followed by 30 seconds of silence, then 4 minutes of brown noise followed by 30 seconds of silence. Play on repeat and just let them work their way through the frequencies. I made the file in Audacity and it's completely free of copyright, DRM or any other limitations. Use it, share it, modify it, do what you want.

Have had my 900's for about 6 weeks now. Everything I ever read about them is true. Boomy on the bass and brash on the high end out of the box, but smooths out real nicely with about 200+ hours. I love them so much that I ordered the Ed 8, just now delivered to me. Can't wait.

Next up, the J$ pads for the 900's. I want to tease out the midrange a bit and tighten up the bass a tad - though it rarely bothers me. It's all true: it's amazing the level of bass impact while preserving bass/overall detail, and not bleeding into the mids and high end.

the edition 8's are another animal man.  The bass is tightened (made smaller also), and the clarity is unreal. Your gonna like.

Wonderful words! That is exactly what I was hoping for. I haven't even unboxed them yet (at work). I couldn't be more excited.

Mine have already changed noticeably around the 20 hour mark... Can't wait to see what 50 hours do to them!

I just ordered a set of Pro 900s and they should be delivered tomorrow. :) I really like what I've been reading about them so hopefully they don't disappoint.

I've got a bunch of tracks lined up to test them with, after I try out the S Logic demo CD, of course.
