Hi, I was thinking of purchasing a longer straight cable with a 6.3mm jack for the Ultrasone Pro 2900 and stumbled across these two on their official website:

I was just wondering if the "so-called" neutrik jack really is worth that extra cost. What exactly would be the difference? Any other recommendations?

You know, one day I accidentally dropped my head phone amp to the ground. The ultrasone 6.5 headphone plug cracked but didn't completely break apart. My amp was all ok. But as I closely inspect my headphone jack, I discovered that the part that should have been all metal was actually gold plated onto plastic and that's why the jack cracked.
My point is, don't buy Ultrsone official cables. They suck. Try order some diy cables specifically made for the pro 2900. I'm considering buying a pair of such customized cable.

By the way, have you compared your ATH-M50s with the Ultrasone Pro2900. Hows the difference?
