First, I am pleased that the old and ugly head bands were finally replaced. They will draw on the design of the Edition 8, the 880 sat with me but still comfortable.
It still uses a lot of plastic, the weight is very low.
Positive, I noticed that the 880 has no such lofty peaks, like the Edition 8 or 5 next to it. Overall, the vote is relatively neutral, albeit typical Ultrasone my feelings to not quite natural.
He reminded me of the HFI-780, but slightly warmer, slightly more plastic body. The HFI-780 but I have not heard for a long time to be able to judge the objective. So strong bass as the 580 did not appear to me at least.
Nevertheless, one of the most pleasing Ultrasone I've heard so far. If you like S-Logic with closed headphones, should keep an eye on him.

Well the Ultrasone finally larger pad used here. The Sig Pro is here very closely. Too bad the S Logic Ex is not yet used. This is the highlight of the Ed.5 for me.
Hopefully no metallic sound a la HFI 780 is for me the most unnatural Ultrasone.

Have also heard of the Performance series, but if the 880 is reminiscent of the 780,
then I have me definitely saved € 100
Which pieces as an example because you can hear that? The Metallic sound I mean.
Feel the sound in rap, rock and jazz (Miles Davis) really pleasant.
Offtopic: What amazes me, however, that the iQ Pro In Ear cheaper than the normal iQ
is. Is this with RRP € 450 for ever Competitive?

Sodele, today went on the part of my new Ultrasone Ultrasone PERFORMANCE 840 on the journey to me will reach me tomorrow hopefully.
I'm particularly excited about the memory foam ear pads and -Kopfpolster, ie, how comfortable and soft, hopefully without too much contact pressure he will sit on my eavesdroppers - because I am very sensitive namely terms which contact pressure.
In addition of course to the sound, have specially taken from the three with raised bass (also because me 379 euros were too expensive for the 880 and I was unsure at 880, if not maybe more neutral-course-sober-businesslike, analytically comes along, so all that which I do not like) because you assured me by Ultrasone, this would not be chargeable to the heights. I eventually want to have my good old tub frequency yes. At least he should similarly well "höhig" and "bassy" sound like my reference headphones Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro.

Sodele, today my PERFORMANCE 840 and get the same times tried.
Sits definitely still -despite me tight Anpreßdrucks- very pleasant by the memory foam padding on the ears and head. Would even say (still to tight contact pressure times exterior admitted) that of the previous ULTRASONE Ironing headphones (my butter soft lightweight headphone Ultrasone HFI-15G times do not count), I already was wearing as there would be
Hfi-580,
HfI-2400,
DJ1,
DJ1Pro,
Pro450,
Pro550,
Pro750,
PRO900
Pro2900
Edition8
SIGNATURE PRO
the PERFORMANCE840 by far the most comfortable is, softest and most comfortable thing to ears and head, and in terms of the general upholstery seat.
As for the sound: all these I have already heard of Ultrasone, exceeds the PERFORMANCE 840 mE also has it but unlike many of the enumerated but crystal clear non-cutting and not shrill treble plus much more and better bass. Yes even more bass than the PRO900.
Would even argue that the ULTRASONE PERFORMANCE 840 sound on sound, at length, to space, to heights even on bass even surpasses the previous reference Beyerdynamic DT990Pro ,
I'm in seventh heaven
Now I just have to "get rid of" too tight contact pressure, which I'll solve it as my Beyerdynamic and Superlux - I stretch the headphones on the wide side of the KH-boxes over several hours (if necessary days) and "chant" him by the fact, that is stretching / wide him.
ULTRASONE, you have surpassed the performance 840s my expectations and finally with a Ultrasone headband headphones, the like sound and Wear technically me, blessed me, after I have been fond of Ultrasone only the lightweight headphone Hfi-15G (the but since tens of years) because the others listed above Ultrasone KH either uncomfortable or sat me offered too little bass or had to shrill / sharp highs.
So now I have two reference KH with the DT990Pro and the Performance840 with whom I my wonderful classic with "oomph", so you can enjoy percussive orchestral music.

Thank you for the report. Experienced readers of course know that the euphoria is highest in the first few hours, but there are at least the first experience and we are happy to accept.
That the 840 even more bass than the PRO 900 has of course been an interesting information. I think that he is less popular here in the forum, but I wish Ultrasone so much success with the other bass-heavy competition.
I have also written a long time no more review and somehow excites me the 880. Maybe I will put it to me once. As for comfort, I have already reported positive.

I would indeed be very happy if the 880 has a similar Signature Pro vote. I like the sound that is very good but squeezed me in such ears off, that it no longer is solemnly.

After the performance I've been wearing now 840 yesterday, and half the night, I still want a little "replacement delivery".
So, the PRO900 I had before about ner week on the eavesdroppers. From the low memory I would say that the PERFORMANCE840 is bassy at least as, if not more. My BEYER DYNAMIC DT990PRO he tops at least as far as bass and he also has the better heights.
What I find absolutely amazing on PERFORMANCE840 is that absolutely does not sound like a closed headphone, but as an open, absolutely crystal clear and spatial sound quality.
The memory foram pads are just heavenly soft. However, the contact pressure is still enormous, and not just enjoyable, hope lies down yet (even by my stretch / Weitungsübungen that I make as described in the previous post.
Currently PERFORMANCE840 me the sound is the dearest, but from the comfort of her still BEYER DYNAMIC DT990PRO with its far far lower contact pressure.

The Ed.9 goes towards Sig Pro both have the same driver. The Ed.9 is slightly warmer with a little more bass and better space. Geiler KH and can rock without even the end of the TH900 out of breath But also for large ears nothing, unfortunately.
The performance series especially the most neutral probably 880 would interest me. But has to stop with me so slowly

On the high end I was also quite taken by the Edition 12, super comfortable and very relaxed sounding.Well, in 20 years the house is paid off, then the price is no longer a problem.

I really looking forward to the new, in particular he sees me visually very appealing and well made from. If it is true that he waived the pointed and / or sharp highs, I empfände this as a great step forward. I liked the house sound of Ultrasone never really liked; the listening experience for me was always kind of "uncomfortable", "stressful" and "hard." Yesterday I HiFi Studio Ed. 12 and the Ed. 8 heard because she just stood there, and knew after a short time, why I previously could not get warm with Ultrasone.

Until then, then hopefully the hearing impaired sound engineer, which soundet the headphones so far, in retirement.

Sig Pro, DJ, ED9 are really reasonable Ultrasone, or have you not heard about this and just want to generalize? Their only weakness is the Ultrasone typically much too high price. Realistic prices for Signatures would include 399-449.

Hello,
I now had the new Ultrasone Performance 880 here, because I wanted to buy myself look a closed headphone for TV, but I must say that this is my first Ultrasone headphones anticipated.
After unpacking, I was surprised by the high quality of workmanship and the look of the new 880, the comfort is also top notch up to the high pressure of the certainly could be a problem for some larger heads, this is, however, probably be, in time, may you bend the bracket according Support Ultrasone, the manufacturer offers excellent way Kundenbetreung. As an accessory, a 1.2 m and 3 m connection cable as well as an alternative to the protein leather upholstery, additional Velour upholstery is available.
So until then all the best, we come to the sound: At first, the sound is very balanced, very good resolution and spatially, drops after some time one on the deep bass range but is slightly more dominant than the rest, which sometimes good, sometimes bad fits. The treble response I felt after the first fortuitous also not present and S-Logic worked quite well for me.
Actually, I was after the first half hour already believe to have found the right model, just the sounds of some instruments, such as guitars, etc. sounded with the Ultrasone very well. Unfortunately, it turned then but after prolonged listening with me discomfort and the sound left in some higher frequencies the impression to have a certain sharpness and Unatürlichkeit. So I had the otherwise very beautiful Ultrasone unfortunately again send back. Maybe I'll try again later with the larger models of Ultrasone, or the smaller brother 860, my first impression of the Ultrasone was quite positive.
