I've made my determination to choose between these two models.
Ultrasone PRO 550, or HFI-780

When it comes to comfort, I do believe the 550 will suffice much better than the 780.
Though I've been reading in this lengthy thread of how wonderful the 780s can sound.

I do believe both come with S-Logic Plus?
My intended uses are gaming, orchestral/electronic music

I did purchase the 780's and they're on their way, but I'm thinking of cancelling as I've discovered the 550 PRO's are at very reasonable price. I did like the fact that the 780's had a punchy bass and was interested in their "fun" factor.

I must know though if the PRO 550 is the better choice? It also looks a lot more aesthetically pleasing.

Note: I am looking to drive these without an amp, which I read shouldn't be a problem for either set.

EDIT: I'm not referring to the older 550 PROline series

The PRO 550 would be the more enjoyable headphone IMO. The soundstage is ALOT wider. (S-logic has a bigger effect in the PRO series than HFI series.) The bass impact is also larger in the PRO 550, but the HFI 580 has more bass quantity than the PRO 550.

I found the HFI 780 more refined but dull.
