Radio_head, could you explain what you did to get the 1299 sale price @ RMC/Soundearphones?

Me:  Hi there, I'm Looking to get an Ultrasone Edition 8 Limited Edition because I enjoy buying luxury items I don't need as the stock market crashes and burns around me and the employment rate plummets. 
RMC: That sounds like a noble goal.  All the persecution that this nation's founders underwent would be worth it just for you to be able to be that insensitive to your fellow citizens.  Capitalism is fun!  
Me: How much would it cost me?  A month of a fellow hardworking American's wages?  (Or what they would be if they weren't laid off)
RMC: It looks like they're coming up at $1299.
Me: (expecting them to say $1500) $1300.
RMC: umm... would $1300 suit you better?  Because we're all about fulfilling customer needs here...
 
I was almost a little put out that I didn't have to haggle to get a price like that.

I actually would have rather had a bag than the box for my LE's being that they are portable.  I may buy a bag but i wish it could have somehow been an option.

Not me, I would never take $2000 headphones off my property. By my pool, absolutely all the time. On the subway...no way. The issue I have with the bad is that it doesn't offer any mechanical support for the Ed. 8s.

I have no problem taking my ED8 everywhere with the bag. In fact I have been taking it all over, and it's still flawless.

I like the bag a lot but if there was a more compact hardshell case available I would probably buy it. If these headphones folded flat they would be perfect.

Definitely feel your pain. I got the ED8LE, and I hated the box (Its bulky and you can't take it anywhere). I use ED8 all the time on NYC metro/subway and the carrying case is totally worth it. Highly recommend getting the carrying case so that you can carry it anywhere (backpack/laptop bag/messenger bag).

Not me, I would never take $2000 headphones off my property. By my pool, absolutely all the time. On the subway...no way. The issue I have with the bad is that it doesn't offer any mechanical support for the Ed. 8s.

i take them with me to work every day in the soft bag in my laptop bag. since they're made from aluminium, the only thing i'm concerned about wearing out is the cord, especially where it connects to the cups.

Yea, the exterior is tough, but that cord is a problem.
