Been several years and my cable is... greening 
(I'm caustic. Same problem with glasses..)
Does anyone know of a replacement that fits, besides buying from UE? I'd like to find something cheaper and without memory wire... The ciem does fit really well into the socket of the cable; I'd like to find one that does the same.

Does anyone else out there have these? Anyone found anything universal with a similar signature but has been improved upon? I'm thinking in the under $800 or so, preferably under $500. I'm thinking of maybe the Softears Studio 4?
