Maybe that's right, don't know. But you can even find "first impression" stuff for the TF10s posted in 2006, and I haven't seen anything further back personally. Who knows. They don't even have their own Wikipedia page, surprisingly.
 
Great job on the review of the 900s. My only criticism is that you speak too definitively on things you haven't heard. I know you always state you haven't heard the 'phones in question, but still. Your statements on things you haven't heard often come across in a very matter-of-fact manner.

I did make the statement that I was basing what I said about the TF10 on what I've read.  Past that, I give the general sound signature of the UE900 (no comparisons).  The disclaimer is there, and in order for the review to flow properly, it has to be worded like that, short and succinct.  I'm still a writer unfortunately, and the review needs to read objectively.  My apologies if it made it sound like it was set in stone fact.

THanks.  They look nice in person too.  I was thinking of getting a blue iPod to match XD  But I didn't (silver iPod Touch coming).

"does wearing the earbuds down like the Apple earbuds (not looping it like you suggest) pose a significant problem? Would they be constantly falling out from casual walking? They won't stay in my ear (like the S4is I'm listening to right now)? I was really psyched to get these, but this lessened my enthusiasm as I like to wear buds like that

They 900s do stay in, and don't fall out (I insert IEMs in the Custom style; lift the top of my ear and twist in.  This creates stability, not too many people do this).  They may not be the best for running with them down, the memory wire will get into the way for that.  For casual walking, I see no problem.  If you wear them up, you should have no problem running in them.  You do have to remember, these were designed to be worn up, so you will get a loss of stability going from up to down still.  
 
If you don't lift your ear and twist in, then no, you won't get them to stay put when down for walking.  If you do, then they will stay put.  The seal kind of keeps them in place XD

The following is from a TF10 review from 2006. Definitely seems to imply that they came out that year, and I've seen lots of similar stuff which is why I was under the impression they came out in '06. *shrugs*:

2006 sounds right. TF10 and SE530 were HUGE introductions into the universal multi-driver market. The Shure was more popular due to ergonomics but both welcomed strong sales. I owned both several times due to my addiction to this hobby
