Hi,
could you please point me to the link where you took those pic please ?
Since i got my replacement from logitech (a ue900 delivred in a ue900s package..) i'm trying to understand why?
logitech keep telling me that ue900 and ue900s are the same aesthetically!!!
even when i send them this pic

So my supposed UE 900s for the most part look like the pic on the left which I believe is the original UE 900, but the ear tip has the off center hole placement like the picture on the right, but has the recessed inner ring on the ear tip like the pic on the left. At this point I have no idea what's going on here.

mine look like the left ones, but the off center placement is like the right, however i dont have the recessed inner ring. the internal placement seems to be like the left, but i cant get a good look inside. i wonder if these were refurbs sold as new ones...

So strange. If I had a gun to my head I'd say that my internals look more like the right ones but it's pretty hard to tell what's supposed to be where in that pic. This just gets weirder and weirder by the minute.

Post a pic of your 900s because now I'm confused on what's going on

Here you go. I'm sorry if these pics don't exactly show what I'm talking about as the lighting wasn't terribly good.

Can't realy tell. The hole on the left iem may not be off centered, and just appears that way because of the reses inner ring. The internal dose look closer to the iem in the right but even then its hard to tell from the pic. There was another person you quoted, who said the same thing as you but the inner ring of the tip wast reses, which would make his closer to the 900s. Could be that Logitech been quietly added changes to the original 900 before releasing the new 900s to experiment with what works. I had a few replacement that had some changes that were never explain. Didt know if it was a defect or a change. But that's just a theory. Only Logitech can tell you for sure what's going on. I mean if your happy with the sound then its no big deal. Seem like they provide enough things to fix's the sound cuting out. But if one of the things you didt like about the old 900 is the huge dip in bass when the smaller bore gets clog then I can see why you or anyone else would pefer the 900s which address that issue

I actually never owned the original UE 900, so I never experienced the dip in bass or issues with them cutting out. I've only have the 900s for 3 day so it's hard know if those issues will arise with whatever model 900 I actually ended up with. I should (hopefully) hear back from customer support tomorrow, so we'll see what they say about the matter. It does appear that the maintenance gel they are trying to help with issues with the sound cutting out.

Well, Logitech responded to my issue via email and here is what they had to say:

"Thank you for contacting Logitech Customer Care Team and I am glad to assist you.

I understand that you have ordered UE 900s and you are concerned that you might not have received the correct one. Let me help you with this.

Can you show us the picture of the box which shows the White writing on a color Blue plastic? The UE 900 and UE 900s are the same which the writing should be on a Black plastic. Please click this link as your reference:

http://www.ultimateears.com/en-us/900s

We have also tried to search online as you have claimed that you have seen some pictures of the UE 900s with the Blue plastic and we have not found one.

Please try to provide us the picture of the box by attaching it on your response and if you can also include the links of the pictures that you have mentiond with the Blue plastic. We are concerned about this at it may raise a confusion to our customers."

So basically they are saying that the UE 900 and UE 900s look the same and that the picture that we've seen comparing the two side by side is incorrect. I'm going to send them a link to the photo of them side by side and see what they say, but I assume it will be basically the same response as I just received.

This is unreal. They must be joking. Because if you look at the 900s it's clear that the body is blue and not black. This tells me that they flat out lied and didt even bother looking at the box. The fact that they sent you a link to support what they said and it's still blue make it even worst. I can't even make an exuse for them at that point

I know, it's crazy. I'm doing my best to fight the good fight and get to the bottom of what's going on. I sent them the side by side photo from this forum of the UE 900 and UE 900s, and I also sent them a picture of the UE 900s box that my headphones were packaged in with the blue connector that the cable is attached to clearly circled for them to see. I will keep this thread updated with whatever support they provide. Here was their response to receiving my pictures:

"Thank you for contacting Logitech and for the update. We send these pictures to our product specialist to investigate on this matter. Where did you purchase this? Let us update you within 24 to 48 hours.

Sincerely,

Raymund

I just looked at my 900 and there is a recessed inner ring and the hole is also off center. Next to it the pinhole bore. From what you have described I think you have the 900 in hand and not the 900s.
If I understand correctly the 900s shouldn't have a pinhole bore, but I can't confirm that.
