You have no idea how strong is my commitment, Kirk. I took the Apogee... it was an American one: American plug and not-so-so international power suply (I mean, it said in big letters "INPUT: 100V - 220V", but in small letters at the bottom it said only "INPUT: 100V").
I didn't want to damage the miniDAC so I was looking for a transformer 100V-220V the whole morning (with traffic jams, walking while raining...). Finally I got one. It didn't work. The power supply was damaged (?). The led was always off.
Again same history (well, this time I got an umbrella first) in my "Quest" for a compatible AC/DC adaptor for the miniDAC (its not really a standard one, so it's not easy to find it). After looking in 3 different shops I did find one! I was praying in my way back that the power supply was the faulty one, and not the unit.
I just came home 10 minutes ago. It is working! And it sounds good!
Ah, by the way, as the HD595 was at the end a 50 Ohms one, I'll bring it too (but it is a brand new, without burning-in) Plus the SR-225 that I bought 2 days ago (under intensive burning-in since then). I'll bring 2 pairs of Bowls and 2 pairs of Flats that came on time too.
I think I won't bring with me the laptop IBM Thinkpad as it seems like there are enought computers. I'll bring my iBook in order to feed the Apogee though. I hope I can borrow some HD650 for a while (mine is not coming on time) in order to try them with my XLR Zu cable with the Apogee and the Benchmark.
Glad you can make it, bangraman
Now it's time to prepare the stuff and to check some maps
CU Tomorrow!
