Just go for LCD2r2, They are going to release a new model with Bamboo materials.

Currently model with lamb skin + caribbean wood = superior feature quality and superb sound quality with usd950...

Thank you for your help! I went for Grado 225i. I have now 300+ hours and I enjoy them much more than my old AKG K701, which I already sold :) . I liked RS1i but Grado 225i was three times less. I'm still interest in Grado Gs1000i, PS500 and also HD800. I only heard HD800 and it was very different sound, but only for couple of minutes. If I compare T1 and HD800, I would go for HD800(I heard T1 on A1 AMP). Currently I'm leaning towards Grado GS1000i or HD800 as my next ugrade. Any thoughts on which of the two(maybe  LCD2 too :) ) would be better for Indie music(Radiohead, Modest Mouse, PJ Harvey)?

I've got the Grado RS2i (which is the predecessor to the Grado 500 I think); for vocals, strings, midband music, etc.. the only thing that sounds better is listening to same through my Maggie 1.7s.

325 is supposed to be brighter and ps500 warmer with less highs.

^ you will be surprised by how amazing the ps1000 sounds, but how the rs1i is just as awesome because it is the ultimate representation of the grado sound.

Result of my audition is as follows RS1i->SR225i->PS1000. RS1i is still my favorite, but price difference(3 times more) to SR225i is unacceptable! Sound difference between  RS1i and  SR225i is really small. PS1000 were flat sounding and huge bass that I was reading about wasn't there... What caused this kind of result of comparison? Well I have three theories:
1. PS1000 had only 30 hours on them(SR225i 300+, RS1i 200+).
2. Source was Fubar 4 connected via USB  to notebook(via S/PDIF huge sound improvement). When plugged via S/PDIF to Asus Xonar Essence STX Fubar4 sounds better than nuforce Icon HDP. Or Fubar 4 is not powerful enough for PS1000? I read many times on this site that GRADO cans don't need good DAC/AMP, but in my experience that's not true. I think good DAC/AMP will do difference.
3. 1 + 2

I'm going to do the comparison again, but this time with better DAC/AMP. What are your DAC/AMP suggestions for this RS1i, SR225i, PS1000 test? My budget is $500-1000(maybe even $1500, but I would like to stay as low as possible with the cost :) )

i just purchased a set of ps-1000
and i used to have a pair of rs1i also the 225i

from what i read and heading, the ps-1000 is a improveed rs1i with better sound stage.
but the ps-1000 need 2 things
1) long long burn in time, like 200 hours,
2) amp, PS-1000 is kin of picky on amp,
and one of the better one is the V200, which i bought it for my PS-1000 and hd-800.

i do currently have
T1,HD-800 also,
and the PS-1000 become my go to headphones.

the only real problem of the PS-1000, is
not the sound, comfort.....
It is the weight, it can fall off frm my head really easy when i lean forward, it will slide down.

to me, T1 is a reallllly good all round headphone.
good comfort, good sound stage, good on everything, but never be the best on anything.
if you want the best in rock, go somewhere else,
if you want the best for classical, go somewhere else.
if you want the best comfort, go somewhere else.
....
....
....

if you want a headphones that perform good  for everything, without thinking too much.
T1 is a good choice

I am waiting for the HD-700 to see if it can best T1.
