Any updates? We're almost at the end of the year. :)

What I really want to know is if bluetooth 4.0 on this can sound much better than what's already out there.

The Lear BTC-01 is almost in my cart to buy- please FiiO give us an update!

Regards,
Simon

I kinda like the pendant style of it. Will like to try it when it comes out, but will it received some ath-im connectors love? Already bought the trinity bluetooth lanyard but not test it as I have still not received my ath-im connectors to mod it. If that ones offers ath-im connector and is decent I will buy one.

Dear all,

Please kindly note that the project of BTC-MMCX has been upgraded to be another product. Now we are working on another Bluetooth Receiver named BTR1, in this case, the name of BTC-MMCX will not exist. Really sorry for keep you waiting.

In consideration of both sound quality and battery life of an independent DAC, it is difficult to make the size as we previously designed for the BTC-MMCX. So we decide to update the project to be a receiver with 3.5 mm headphone output. One short MMCX cable will be included with the receiver.

Please stay tuned and we will keep you posted in this post if any update on this project. Sorry again for this inconvenience.

Hi, Amber Rain
It may not be released in time for the Christmas market. When we have the definite time, we shall be shouting it from the rooftops.

Just read, that the planning within Fiio has changed:

Any impression about when the BTR1 might arrive on the market?

Please make it with two 3.5mm outputs; a single-ended TRS, and a balanced TRRS...
I hope to see (and hear) something like a miniature GeekOut, but with aptX Bluetooth... doubt it would be the case tho...

This is really unfortunate. I was looking forward to trying out a MMCX bluetooth replacement cable from FiiO, since this is a market that is really underserved with very few good choices, only ****ty sounding $20 cables from AliExpress or ridiculously overpriced $150+ cables from Sony and Westone, and nothing in between.

I've been a huge fan of FiiO products and was eagerly awaiting the release of the BTC-MMCX, which would likely have stroke a great balance between sound quality and affordability like all the other FiiO products I've owned so far. Instead it looks like you're going the route of the full-sized bluetooth receiver with 3.5mm output. I have nothing in particular against that, but to be honest I've been able to find so many "good enough" APT-X enabled bluetooth receivers on Amazon that offer great SQ at a fair price that I can't really get myself very excited about FiiO's entry into that space.

I'm hoping you can continue development on the BTC-MMCX and eventually release it as a product, despite your plans to cancel it in favor of the new receiver, as they serve completely different use cases. I'm sure I speak for quite a few folks in this thread when I say I'd love to try both. =)

I'm using the Noble BTS adapter, but I'm not really satisfied with a) the short battery life, and b) the not insignificant bass roll-off with low impedance IEMs (16 ohm).

Could you be so kind to give your subjective list of the best 3..5 which you recommend to look at? Small and high performance, but APT-X not necessarily needed, because I'm using an iPhone

You don't need to take the effort to provide links, but just the names would be sufficient.

Thank you.

I'm interested in this type of product, been looking for hifi quality Bluetooth receiver when want to stream music from phone, hopefully this can be launched soon.

Btw, can advise if this perform same level as upcoming Q5 in term of sound when both also steam from phone using Bluetooth? Or Q5 wound be better?
