the seller seems honest and willing to work with your requests...for the price,
it's a doable deal...for a metal base testing at 58 or 60, you'll have competition
and will probably have to pay in the $250 -$300 range...if budget is no object
and you only want the best, then hold off till a better testing one comes along.
and even those are tricky cause everyone seems to have differently measuring
tube testers. what measure 60 on their tester may only measure 54 on yours...
or go thru a dealer with return policies...they charge premium though...
good luck.

A coworker of mine has a friend who is a tube testing gear fanatic and they go to swap meets together. They had a swap meet on Saturday which I couldn't attend, but I gave my coworker the tube list from this thread and asked him to pick a few up so I could try different ones. Apparently his friend had two very slightly used(he said they test very well) tubes and gifted them to me free of cost(booyah!), details below, are these any good?

RCA 5U4GA (57-22 188-5 MADE IN USA) is on the base.
Another RCA, this time with the older version of the logo and lots of printing:
JAN-CRC-5R4GY (SC6135A)

Any help on how to interpret these numbers would be appreciated. Thanks!
