Trinity are good people. No doubt. And they will improve and not create such a mess again including improving on their zero communication. We all wish them all the best. Everything is good about this line of thought so far.
But what's not acceptable is the silence on how long is it going to take for buyers in North America to actually get their items. It is quite surprising that trinity keeps mum about it despite direct questions about it to them.
What's the likely date the items would reach Alabama center? How long would it take for the small crew in Alabama to repeat the same exercise that their UK colleagues went through before those items are actually shipped out to the buyers?
Stating the ship out date from UK is misleading at best. And even that date keeps slipping by and has so far.
And the reluctance to address it open even at this stage is troublesome. Quite a few have suggested to wait or cancel the order. Fair enough.
Would trinity waive the cancelation fee as a good will gesture and let the buyers that would like to cancel do so without the cancelation fee?
Doing so would repair the damage to a great extent and restore good will.
I'll prefix my comments on this by saying I'm not being 'off' with you or anything... just a couple of comments.
I fully agree that things could have been handled better and would even dare say that Bob himself is disappointed with the way it snowballed out of control. He's already made comments that he doesn't want to do pre-orders again or that he will be handling future releases very differently. I for one wouldn't have a problem ordering from them again, any time.
While we were all under the impression that we would have our products by now, we WILL still get them. There have been a few set backs that have resulted in Bob's optimism on shipping timeframes getting the better of him. I honestly believe that the team at Trinity have been working non-stop to try and get these orders out of the door, and Bobs commitment to the product has always been paramount to him - even if that sometimes means the product being delayed.
I'm sure that the delays in the US will be minimal, as I'm sure that all of the assembly has already been done in the UK, and are now just being onward shipped from Alabama. I'm sure it won't take that long to get to you.
I agree that Trinity should potentially wave the cancellation fee, but I'm not sure why you would want to at this stage. I totally understand that people are frustrated, disappointed and feel let down, but it's a bit like cutting your nose off to spite your face. You've waited so long for them, and now you're this close to getting the product that you liked enough to spend good money on BEFORE it was even built... you want to cancel? I'm not particularly saying you as in you personally, but in general.
Have faith, be patient and your IEM's will come in good time. I know this has been frustrating A F, but it's nearly done, and you nearly have them - I'm sure of it!
