TRINITY - PHANTOM Series - New thread + WORLDS FIRST PUSH PULL HYBRID IEM!*

For anyone interested - I just posted my Delta V2 review - in amongst it is comparative graphs for Delta V2 and Sabre.

On the Sabres are you able with filters to tone down the treble? I tend to be treble sensitive.

I have these on pre- order and wonder if I made a boo-boo.

If Bob describes the Master 4 as a delta 2 on steroids sounds like I would be better off without the Sabre.

I'm sure Brooko will answer when he has had some sleep , but the treble on the Sabre is not hot.

Really nice review @Brooko, thanks a lot. I'm impressed on how much info you got there. And so wonderfully exposed

 amazingly done.

I was actually worried when i read the review. That spike scared me x) i'm fine the upper mids, the one around 9 kHz is the one that is catching my eye but i know the graph alone doesn't tell the whole story. I was also surprised because when i tried the Dunu DN-1000 there were spikes in the treble region which are not that noticeable from the graph (at least at a great amplitude)

Well i know i'm sensitive to my treble, but i think i'm gonna be ok with the sabres, we'll see. Still trusting Bob

Edit: Btw Bob, is the Phantom Air still heart shaped?

If you can grab an equaliser - give whatever IEMs you're using a boost at 9 kHz and see if that causes issues. It doesn't for me.

I have shallow ear canals. I much prefer lighter earphones. I prefer a slight v-shape sound signature with a wetter, organic bass. I demand excellent piano rendition. I am sensitive to some earphones' high-midrange spike. Between the Sabre and the Delta V2 which would be my better choice?

Got some unfortunate news for you guys - and please note this does not affect the quality of the final product!!!

Last night the one of the Sabre drivers died.  Bob says it's likely a loose wire - they are prototypes, hand assembled, and not as robust as the finals will be.  They've also been pushed, prodeed, tweaked, retweaked and probaby changed a few hundred times to get the tuning right (if I know Bob). Funnily enough my trusty DN-1000s also gave up the ghost last night as well (right driver distorting badly) - not bad for around 5 years use.  It happens.

Tested the Master this morning (I only got around 5-10 minutes with them yesterday) and from first listen I knew things weren't right.  Looks like another loose wire or something because 1/2 the bass is gone.  So I'll get some photos up so you can see comparatively what they look like though. But for now there isn't a whole lot more I can do. They'll be couriered back to Bob Monday.

Here's a little look at how the left ear piece on the Master 6 measured with gold filter. Remember my rig measures low from above about 5 kHz.  This is a prototype - so still could change.  Unfortunately means I can't really give you too much info at this stage.

Delta V2 will give you more tuning options with bigger changes.

How about fit-wise, with my shallow ear canal? Thanks!

Do you mean shallow or narrow? If you have very narrow canals you may have issues with the Delta V2's width of the nozzles. Shallowness shouldn't matter though.

I usually use medium-sized tips, but the nozzle cannot stick very far into my ear. I find the Rockjaw Alfa Genus 2 to be the limit that is comfortable. The RHA S500 and JVC FXT90 are quite comfortable. The Havi B3 nozzle is wider/longer than I prefer. Does that help?

OK - sounds as though you might have quite narrow openings.  In that case Delta might be a bit iffy.  Pity we weren't closer, I could get a pair to you to try, but it costs me more than $50 to get stuff to the US.

I'm going to give you another couple of options

The orange line is Delta with the damped gold filter.  Red line is the Alclair Curve version 2.  Not quite as prominent in the upper mid-range, but should fit well with smaller tips, and has a warm lush signature without being too dark.

Blue line is the MEE P1 - very similar to Delta and the spike at 10kHz isn't really that noticeable as its outside the sibilance range
