Man I really used to even think statements like this were funny but I've just been told by my Cancer Urologist that I'm to have 35-40% of one of my kidney's removed next month

Hopefully the mass they remove is benign and I can still lead a fairly normal life, beats losing the whole thing and having to rely on just one

At least the most I have to worry about now is only work related stuff 

Luckily(I guess?) for me the biggest injury I ever had was tearing my ligament, it sucks though but still way better than your situation and the medical leave they gave me is so appealing

I wish you the best.  We are very fortunate to have 2 kidneys as we can live a long healthy life with just one(as if we never had the 2nd one...I am a physician so I am not just saying this, its from medical knowledge).
 
Of course my thoughts and prayers are that is a benign lesion and small hiccup in life and nothing more serious.

My brother only has 1 kidney and has from birth so totally losing it would not be a big deal.

Your too much of a stubborn sod to be gone to soon anyway, so keep that chin up and carry on being you..... A pain in my arse

Slow, believe it or not this is just a 48 hour Hospital stay, going to be Lapro/Robotic they are telling me so I guess I'll throw on some Alan Parsons an chill
