Hi everyone. I knew about Trinity Audio a bit too late, when the company is already full of chaos. I plan on buying the Icarus III. I have been browsing this thread for hours, and would love it if someone would do a comparison and a short review (even a link to a prior comment would be nice). As a background, I have a few decent gears, like LZ-a2, Aurisonics Rockets, KZ-ZS5, and my favorite IEM, Dita The Answer (Truth Edition). I'm curious to how it compares to my Dita Truths, or any other famous Midrange to high end IEMs.

I agree. By buying, all you're doing is encouraging a company that has lied, deceived and pushed back shipment of TONS of orders. They also delivered a sub-par product (The Phantom Air) KNOWINGLY to backers. I doubt Trinity will actually survive in its current state, as I'm surprised anyone still wants to buy their products...

The only Icarus product released was the Icarus III and that's sold out on their site. A lot of people also mentionned that it's in no way worth the retail price tag of £235, so I wouldn't pay more than £80 for it, which is the last price it got. If after all this you're still willing to buy it, well... Good luck.

As for audio reviews, there are some in the original thread. Look for that one instead.

That is well noted. It's just that a local reviewer has said very good things about it. Also, I can buy it for around $150, but I think it still is not worth it then? I think I'll just wait for the VE MonkIEs then, though I think neither would beat my Dita Truth.

$150 USD? It's overpriced from their promo/preorder price, about a 40$ markup. I enjoyed the Icarus sound at the lower price point to be honest, but I wouldn't swing that much money on them. Especially since it will be discontinued. They wrote in a previous message that they would streamline the Icarus line into the Icarus IV, discontinue the III and add a new line of lower price products to compensate (Dual Phase and Hybrid B).

Their whole product line is a mess right now... Their after sales support too. People have trouble getting warranty repairs... So if you wanna jump on board, make sure your reseller can cover the warranty for you. I'd rather invest in TFZ Exclusive King or in Brainwavz B400 at that price range...

Again, to repeat myself. Don't buy anything from Trinity. This is regardless of where or who you get it from at any price point other than free. Save your funds for a company that actually exists.

The Icarus III unit is tunable; so its hard to give an exact comparison. I like it more than the LZ-A2; and I do like those. I actually thinks its a pretty good unit; but the wariness of other posts is warranted.

In gunmetal it is really clear and listenable, at least to my ears.

But be wary of buying it from Trinity directly. Find another source. My two cents. Also don't expect any warranty service whatsover. If my unit ever dies, that is it. I know that.

I imagine gently used units should go for less than half of what you are considering paying.

I also saw a posts on a facebook audiophile buy and sell, where someone is selling it used for less than a hundred, and it goes unnoticed, which really put a damper in its credibility and the value I assumed it to be.

ICARUS III was Bob's last and best creation before leaving Trinity...
Already own...Dunu DN2000 &2000j...LZ A4...Fidue A73....and Rose BR5 have to say that regardless of Trinity as a company icarus iii is an amazing iem at any price point....
Been listening now for three months on the row....and dont wwant to try anything else...just amazing 3Dimentional sound and refined timbre
