I just got my believe yesterday. I'm burning it in but I don't find it to be as power hungry and volume dependent as the I3. Very nice pair, it's like an upgraded ibasso it00 to me so far. Bass texture is fantastic.

IMHO, the amping is to increase dynamics and microdetails and bass tightness (and perhaps soundstage) in the KBEAR BElieve, not just about absolute volume. Ie better scaling in technical performance. The BElieve can definitely be run from a low powered (non LG) smartphone, but I feel we are not getting the full potential with a lower powered source. But YMMV as usual.
