If I had known that you were interested in the Re262 I would of course have sold them to you. You could even have borrowed one of them. Yeah, I did let a NIB go for relative cheap for a quick sale, needed a new amp! I do have the Studio-V and Rocoo-P, sold my Rocoo-BA very recently.
I must admit have no idea why you get me and goodvibes mixed up, he's much more handsome than I am :)

That's an ugly rumor. I never had a V. LOL

I actually read the manual, pages 34-49 for English, and really never came across anything in the DAC file processing. I just deleted the HD Tracks files and started the addition of my iTunes lossless files. That will take an hour so and then I will try it again.

Itunes lossless is likely alac and not a viable format as well. Generally only for apple players as until very recently alac wasn't open source. Supported formats, MP3, WMA, WAV, Flac, AAC, OGG
Basically, all the most common universal formats. I don't have a manual handy but generally, these are quoted in the specification page of products and I've never seen a product that does HIDef without it showing up there. It should never be assumed.

It reads the folders and shows the albums and songs but won't play them.  All my files are either Apple Lossless or HiRes FLAC so basically the player is useless for me.  How can any player in this day not read apple lossless or hires flac!!!  I did not buy the player to convert to low resolution files as it was touted as a high end audio player.  I can't say how disappointed I am right now.

??????
There seems to be some confusion involving file support. A few weeks ago I emailed Jack asking about file support for his BA player. According to Jack his BA player supports both AAC and ALAC. I would be surprised the BA player supports AAC and ALAC but the studio V which is their flagship player doesn't support it.

You may want to have a peak at the RE262. I have a feeling it will be a marriage made in heaven. Plus a 150 Ohm impedance there damned well better be no hiss or I may need to turn volume up a bit more to dampen that sensitivity .

Looking forward to your review, once your RE262 arrives  Do let me know how they sound with both the Studio-V2 and V3 later if you can... thanks.

Nothing seems to be going right for me on this.  I tried to convert a batch of albums using J Rivers by using the 32 gigabyte micro SD card as the destination and it just dump them with no folders and no structure so it is back to the drawing board.  This shouldn't be this difficult.

I doubt ALAC will work. The FW was written before it even became open source.

Converting files is something we all need to do. I don't think HiRes worthwhile for on the go. I use FLAC on the Hisounds, AAC 400 CBR on my Fuze and wav or aac 400 on my Touch out of convenience. At home, it's mostly HiRes.

Sometimes, I'll copy a music folder and then convert back into it so it stays organized. Worst case is that you need to erase the old files if your convertor wont replace them. It's easy to do, if you view by type they'll be bunched so that you can select a group and delete.

Use Flac Frontend to convert WAV to FLAC. Use Monkey Audio to covert APE to WAV. Not hard to do :). Then just drag and drop those files into the folders of your choosing on your Studio V. Use mp3 tag to properly tag those files. Its a process but once you got it down its quite easy.

Thanks.

For a product in this day, I personally do not think the user should have to go through any conversion.
