Well, it seems I have a problem now. A new set of tubes arrived for my amp while I was at school and my parents had to sign for them, they were not happy, and they're now going on a bitchfest about my audio hobby.

Unfortunately they're they type to hold things over my head for an eternity so my attendance at the meet is kinda doubtful right now. They do not want me associating with a bunch of people who they view as "weirdos" for some "useless" hobby in thier words.

Sorry for venting, but this is pissing me off bigtime and I really hate dealing with this kind of ****.

Inform them that you are going to a study session. Math, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Philosophy, Psychology, Music.

Take your pick. Not one would be a single lie. Studying will be going on...so will learning....

True, but it means my tube amp will be staying at home. Fortunately my mint-tin Gilmore amp fits in my jacket pocket and my headphones and power supply can be hidden in my backpack. I'll see how things work out over the next week and a bit, I don't want to go in over my parents heads if I can help it as it leads to too many questions and becomes a real pain in the ass.

And who kindly give me a ride from Toronto to Pickering?

TKSingh, should I email you and ask you where you're picking people up? I live in York, so I can take a subway to your place.

I think it would be nice if our host msjjr could inform us how many people will be attending the meeting and what equipment will be available for listening. Providing that meeting starts at noon should we show up few minutes earlier to assemble the equipment.?

There will be about 15 people. As to what they'll bring, check their posts. I know as much as you do.

Unfortunately not. They are still working on the subwoofer x-over; work was held up while they finished the upgrades to my tube amp (that will be ready for Sunday!!). They're auditioning the system with three Hovland Sapphire amps!

I was hoping this nasty cold I've had for the past week and a half would be gone by now, but it hasn't. I'm going to do you all a favour and stay away. You guys have a blast. And take pictures.

I wonder if one of the attendees would be good enough to write an account of our meet and post some pictures so that the rest of the Head-Fi community can see how good looking we are!
