I have looked for a week to find a review, or source, to describe the difference between these two DAC lines from Topping.
Cannot find anything.

Is one non-balanced? Different chipsets? Power Supply lower quality? Portable market? E30 would have lower SQ than D30, as an example?

Each line has a 30-50-70-90 naming convention.

What are the differences?

Anyone have any insight into these, I am stumped.

D50s: no balanced outputs, supports Bluetooth, does not support MQA, no remote
E50: balanced [TRS] and single-ended outputs, no Bluetooth, supports MQA, comes with remote, uses newer ESS chip, has updated USB technology

Having previously owned both, I preferred the E50 which was just as, if not more, detailed than the D50s but also sounded more natural/musical and less clinical than the D50s. I ran the E50 with the Topping P50 linear power supply and really enjoyed that DAC/ps combination.

The new D50 III has balanced outputs, DUAL ES9039DQM chips, remote and 10-band parametric EQ. Still no MQA--but MQA has fallen by the wayside anyway.
Looks like the best D50 yet!
