It's easy for me since I've got a lot of nothing to say LMAO.

So out of your collection, which of your headphones do you most enjoy with the new album? For me it's the Sendy Aiva! That thing with the updated pads CRUSHES the new album. I usually love my IER-M9 with everything Tool but for FI I definitely prefer the Aiva. You?

I have two favorites the HD-650 and the drums sound Better on the HE-4XX

Yes I do and I think the CD sounds better but it may be the iMac that is playing the files vs the 1991 Denon CD player making most of the difference

Bought hi res on qobuz. Absolutley the most epic album tool has ever released. Though it is way more serious than they previos works. Sound incredible, could be thw best sounding album maynard has ever done. Rigth ip there with 13th step. Hi res version is totaly worth it. This feels as theyr last album to me, acording to Maynard and the guys probably is, if so a great way to go out.

Hey guys - fellow Toolhead here. Wanted to get your suggestions, as I'm planning to have a Fear Inoculum day (dedicated listening session through whole album) at my local hi-fi shop soon. Here's what I need your input on: should I schedule to have my session via a top-tier speaker or headphone setup?

I've listened to the album dozens of times through headphones (Grado SR-80e) and speaker system (iMac > Yamaha RX-V1800 > PSB Imagine X2T). Both have their strengths and weaknesses - but I can't decide which "uber" setup I should spend my time with on that day. I want to get the best mind-blown experience out of it.

Thoughts?

This type of music is always better on awesome headphones. Its pretty much made for them. Speakers are an afterthought.
