I can't see the images...but then again I can't see any of these types of things since I was 8 (lost vision in one eye...it's back but not good enough to see these sorts of things

Don't worry you'll get your chance to see them live. They plan on doing a full US tour when they get back from Europe. I'm already saving up, I'd like to see them at least twice

The album art is pretty sweet but I agree with the earlier comment that the slip case is suboptimal. The musical part isn't to bad either.

...and the temptation to spell everything wrong was pretty strong...

Damn grammar nazis...wait, shouldn't it be "Nazis"? No, maybe "Nazi's" would be better. Wait, let's all just agree on National Socialist German Workers' Party or NSGWP's for short. So let's assume these friggin' grammar NSGWP's have never made a mistake during their life and walk on water and only do good deeds and kiss their mother on the lips and eat plenty of fiber and like Tool. So with that assumption - shame, shame, shame on you!

The youth in me digs the packaging. One that shells out good money for a disc desires their money's worth. They get it. Cool stereo goggle thingies are the album gimmick of the year. Plus the pictures are well, neato - fetus in a skull anyone? Add blacklight for the dis-alienated youth, Giger style poster of 06. In word, the package is bitchin'.

But as the thirty year old jaded consumer me thinks that flap won't fit very well in my cd case, or that slip sleeve is a pain the arse. Good thing CD albums are my method of choice. And how about flipping through black liner notes for song titles; say hello to fingerprints. Why can't we just get friggin' song titles on the back? Isn't form supposed to follow function anway?

I like my youthful side better. Plus, c'mon fetus in a friggin' skull wins out everytime.

Got both Tool and Pearl Jam today. Tool definitely wins with their (as mentioned) "bitchin" art work.

Good thing that I already listened to the Tool album, so I'm not too anxious. For the next week it's Pearl Jam everyday because I have two concerts on the 9th and 10th.

Bugger. You lot just made me buy it. (That's what I told the wife anyway) She caught me staring at the cover.

It was really cheap on Amazon.co.uk; especially taking that art work into consideration. The CD needs a sleeve though.

Yea, it's amazing packaging. I admit I do prefer a jewel case but they couldn't have done what they did with a jewel case. It does fit in my CD storage unit but unfotunately not with the name facing out, that'd be the main change i'd make to the packaging beyond the obvious anoyance of sliding the CD into the paper sleeve. The feel of the packaging is good for a non-jewel case though. It's a fairly thick cardboard.

It's funny to complain about not getting a jewel case when you think back to the days of LPs which came almost exclusively in cardboard, glued together with paper sleeves...

It is, I know. I still have loads of vinyl from the 70's and 80's which also still plays beautifully. (I have a posh deck though) The thing with CD's is the darn things scratch more easily than vinyl as far as surface scratches go, so that your player has a lot more corrections to deal with.

(I'm sorry to say this as well.... but the Tool CD can't afford to lose much more quality as far as some of the track sounds go either!!)
