Hi guys, I've been using a pair of Shure 425's now for a year and a half.  I've been generally happy, but now I feel like I want to try something different.  When I first picked up the 425s I wasn't an audiophile and couldn't really discern the differences in sound.  Now I can more, so I'm looking to upgrade slightly from what I have.  Does anyone have any suggestions for what I should look at for my next pair of monitors?  Thanks!

Im not an expert to give you advice but it would help if you let us know the following:
what style of music do you listen to the most? how much is your budget? do you want a universal or a custom?

I listen to pop and classical, mainly.  I prefer universal.

Thats a wide budget. Are you stilll using the stock cable? Wirh the 535

I was in the same boat and looked around a bit.   Wasn't convinced the SE535 was worth the upgrade.  I ended up ordering the Heir 5.0, which is a bit outside of your budget.   While not thoroughly reviewed, the comparisons to the 8a made me think it was the best bet for a universal south of $800 (with the upgraded cable).  I also considerd the Sennheisers but decided against as I like the isolation of a closed body.
