Thanks guys.  I'm specifically interested in USB rechargeable ones.  This Govibe Mini looks interesting.  But how does one purchase it?  
 
Also, I'll be using an iPod LOD (which is the whole point of getting an amp - to get a line level signal) -- so how would one control the volume with a GoVibe Mini since it has no volume controls?  Would the iPod's volume control be used?  That would defeat the purpose of the whole endeavor.
 
Thoughts appreciated.

If there's no volume knob on an amp, you cannot use it with LOD. That rules out the GoVibe Mini for you.
 
Fiio E5 and E6 are definitely USB rechargeable and can be used with LOD.

Too big.  I think I'll go with the E6, though I would have liked to go something of better quality & performance, like the Govibe.  
 
RSA Shadow.  I wouldn't want to spend $400 to amplify my iPhone's converter.

Really?  I've owned it before but was not too impressed.  

  Makes me wonder how mediocre I will find the Fiios.

Just sold off my E6 (wasn't using it, not because it's bad or anything). 
It's a good, clean amp, small, decent EQ presets, no hiss at normal listening volumes, and no annoying turn on/off thump. Tested it with JH13.
 
In my brief auditions in-store, tho, I did think the iBasso T3 sounded fantastic with the JH13.
