lol thankst for replying, I know that was a lot. It is not a personal beef against chrome by any regards, it is most browsers gecko, trident, webkit whatever you be the main stream counter parts do a number on I/O activity.

That was just list I found, thanks for looking them up. I'm suprised you found them. I listen to music from all around the world, you don't have to understand what they're saying to understand what they're playing.

That's what I was thinking that they lock you out, not really fair IMO.

That's a good reflection on apple as well, it is so easy it is sometimes counterproductive. Ex. notepad how do I type most people can't identify they have to tap the screen to edit.

I just went through an hour process doing this with my Alpen 2, and I have TheSycoon as well. For foobar I had intergrate a lot of configurations to have it bridge between the two, not sure how I'd set that up in Tidal. Which I think you answered referring me to Fidelizer I'll definately check that out, j-play looks neat too and Roon doesn't seem that bad compared to some audio pricing out there.

I do understand your point against Chrome. A lot of people prefer for example Firefox. Not me though...I like it fast and simple...but would love for example a selectable sound output there!

To setup Asio Bridge in the new Tidal beta app you need to select XMOS XS1-L1 or what your speaker driver is called & choose Hi-Fi Cable output as your default speaker output in the computer (and set in on 16 bit/44100 hz in the settings. Also tick all exclusive modes). Open up Asio Bridge and set TUBAsio Driver as your device. To get the best sq try to set the max latency settings as well on 3072 if possible. If you experiance drop outs youwill need to have a larger number). Use DPC latency checker to see what max value latency you have on your computer...and set it on 3 times that value + a little extra. You can also use LatencyMON to rule out what is giving you latency in your perticular setup.

I agree that Apple sometimes takes that step further than neccesary...but overall does it fairly better than most others do!

Good luck!

Thanks for that, they really do have a good variety. I certainly couldn't expect everything though.

You are welcome!
Their search engine is not perfect...but they are working on it according to the FAQ. Also there have been a lot more music added recenly. Hopefully it will be ok in the near future. Fingers crossed! :D

I was thinking more miminal like K-Meleon which is technically gecko but is fast, low resources, and highly customisable. That would be interesting, I think virtual audio cable could do that, this is convuluted as is anything with the technoglogy but: http://superuser.com/questions/389738/per-application-audio-control-that-works-in-windows-7-64-bit

Now I feel silly I thought you litterally meant bridging the connections, not through a third party. All right I'll give it a whirl and see what I get. Thanks for the tip on Tidal didn't even know that setting was there.

Interesting software! My only concern with your Superuser software is that it looks like it is actually fighting against what I am trying to achieve...ie bitperfect playback. However, I might be wrong here?
The purpose of using Asio Bridge is just that it is making Tidal bitperfect. Allowing the signal to pass unaltered in any way. By using volume controls you will loose the bitperfect playback (ie. The volume control is by passed). Superuser and Asio Bridge will fight each other if I understand it right?

Anyway, give Asio Bridge a try (without Superuser) and hear for your self if you like the SQ or not. I guess you will like the improved SQ! ;)

I'd love a high quality playback screen for Tidal - one with artist picture/album art,  a playback meter and/or a visualiser.  It seems like none of the services I tried have this.

When I've decided what I'm listening to I'd like to look at something pretty.  The iOS playback screen is relatively attractive and I'd like something like that for the desktop App.   A visualiser would be nice.

I know you're listening Jay-Z.  Mr Z.   Sir.

Not sure what you mean by SU software...or what I implied any who I have ASIO Bridge running through E17K and is working well. Thanks again. Had to re-adjust my gains but it was able to boost the signal and sounds a lot better. Will switch it to TUB when my Coax cable comes from Moon-Audio.

Just FYI for anyone using Roon/Tidal use the "jump-start your collection" tool with caution.  It adds a ton of albums to your collection but there's no easy way to remove them once you do so.   Unchecking the box seems to do nothing.

I made the same mistake - it seems manually removing those I don't want is the only way.
That said, it did add some that I will keep.

I was referring to your link. Maybe it is not called Superuser?
Anyway, I am glad you are experienced improved SQ...that most likely will be even better when yiu have received your Moon Audio cable! :)

+1 Fidelizer Pro.
I have had a good experience with it, Tidal and now Roon/Tidal.

Happy to hear that I am not alone on this thread! ;) have you tried to add Jplay6.1 to the mix? If not I suggest you try it out as well. You will NOT be dissapointed...and it is free to try without having to cancel it like Roon. Love Roon software BTW. Want it...but have other prioritizes right now! ;)

Oh yeah, doh the forum. I was thinking of a program. I'm sure you could have it working that where music apps are set to the bitless hardware format, and then all else is set to whatever. Yeah is neat, you can actually hear the gaps in lower quality audio files.

I really dig the Fidelizer app as I don't have a dedicated music server. I will look into Jplay too.
Thanks!
