Thoughts on Limited Edition Shure SE215?

I've read this thread and a bunch of other and I still really don't know if the LTD are what I want.  I'm going to use them as monitors for vocal recording, tracking, and just listening to my ipod/iphone.  I was leaning towards the GF07 BE, but I can't get my head around basically double the price.

Also, I can get the black local for about $40 less than mailordering the LTDs.  Are they worth it?  I've read that the highs are a little more crisp.  Is the bass tighter?  Is it overwhelming?  Forgive me if I should be getting those answers from other posts, but there's a lot to read

BTW, I have had Super.Fi 5EB for a long time.  I like the v-shape for listening, but recently bought some UE350vi's and realized just how bad the isolation is in the Super.Fi's.  For this pair of IEMs, I want a good sound stage and them to be fairly accurate (I think that's the right word

For less than $100 I don't see how i could go wrong.  I can always get something different later if needed, plus I could go with cans for tracking/recording.

Thoughts?

For monitoring, try to go with something more netutral like the RE-400's. The 215's, while good, are NOT neutral, and if you are messing with various preamps/compressors/effects, you need a baseline to go off of.

I have both and the GR07 is way better.
The SE215 LE has harsh highs, the bass is weaker and they just generally have less clarity.

The Shure SE215 LE's sound worse then my Brainwavz M2 as well which are less then half the price. I really don't understand why people like these so much, they sound pretty ****.
The reason i won't be returning them is the isolation is really good and at around $120, there aren't many better in-line mic earphones.

Owais, I'm also considering the Se215 LTD but have been told the GR07 BE may be the best fit for me. I'm just not sure if the difference will be worth the price difference. I read the 215 LTD have deeper bass than the standard edition, but is it anywhere near the GR07 BE? I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck. I have an iPhone/iPad as main sources do the iPhone cables make any difference?

I'd like to bump this and see if anyone knows the bass difference between the GR07 BE and SE215 LTD? thanks

I owned both. They are both good IEMs. The 215ltd's bass is fuller and richer while the GR07BE's bass is probably a truer picture of the music without being on the thin side. The Shure is not bass heavy like a beats, Monster or V-Moda IEM though. The GR07 BEs are definitely on the more revealing side and the highs are more extended. I would say the Shures have much better mids though. Over time though, I just preferred the Shures. I travel alot and the isolation on the GR07s is okay but not close to the Shures. If I put you on a plane and played both I think most would prefer the Shures just due to the fact they isolate better and the advantages of the VSonics are all but eliminated. That being said, if I were to buy a pair for at desk listening or very light commutes, I would probably go with the VSonics.

As for the Shure LTDs vs the black 215s, I owned both of these as well. At full retail, the LTDs are definitely worth the extra $20. I do not find them to have any heavier bass than the regular Shures. The low end may be barely warmer. The highs are a bit more extended though. Overall I really like the Shures in this price range but as with anything, it has to fit your tastes. The poster above that complained about their sound just does not like Shure house sound. Nothing wrong with that but he shouldn't impose his tastes either.

Extended highs is the primary difference between regular and limited 215's?

And here I thought the difference was the extended lows.

Not in my experience listening side by side. I think Shure states its enhanced bass with a little more extension but many think they are bass canons. I can hardly tell any difference between the 2. I can hear more top end though.

One month ago, I created a new thread about "Headphones with good isolation from the inside to the outside" and someone told me to buy the shure SE215 LTD. Before buying it, I wanted a confirmation & precisions and asked this person (rem1x) :
you seem pretty self-confident so can you confirm me that you tested with shrill voices like screams, lot of acute even cries of pleasure, all very loud ? (I don't want that my landlord think I watch porn or whatever just two meters beside her...)

but he never answered me even if I pm him so I allow myself to ask the owners of a Shure SE215 LTD on this general thread if they can put to test their IEM with someone else to confirm that this IEM meets my criteria. Those who want details can go on the thread I linked. It's not to long, just the first post is relevant.

Thank you.

Generally no noise in means no noise out. These isolate very well. You'd only top them with Ety's (both sound in and out).

Exactly. I sit in close quarters on planes and crank my music. I have never even had an odd look. No one can hear anything. I have verified this with my wife too while listening in bed.
