For monitoring, try to go with something more netutral like the RE-400's. The 215's, while good, are NOT neutral, and if you are messing with various preamps/compressors/effects, you need a baseline to go off of.
I've read this thread and a bunch of other and I still really don't know if the LTD are what I want. I'm going to use them as monitors for vocal recording, tracking, and just listening to my ipod/iphone. I was leaning towards the GF07 BE, but I can't get my head around basically double the price.
Also, I can get the black local for about $40 less than mailordering the LTDs. Are they worth it? I've read that the highs are a little more crisp. Is the bass tighter? Is it overwhelming? Forgive me if I should be getting those answers from other posts, but there's a lot to read
BTW, I have had Super.Fi 5EB for a long time. I like the v-shape for listening, but recently bought some UE350vi's and realized just how bad the isolation is in the Super.Fi's. For this pair of IEMs, I want a good sound stage and them to be fairly accurate (I think that's the right word)
For less than $100 I don't see how i could go wrong. I can always get something different later if needed, plus I could go with cans for tracking/recording.
Thoughts?
