ThieAudio Legacy Series IEMs

New review from Hifi Dreams is up on youtube. It's 100% accurate to my impressions. He seemed to have more trouble with the dip switches scratching the inside of his ear, while my ear had problems with the ear hook pushing inside my ear. Since the customs are so cheap I can recommend everybody who dont need boosted bass like BLON and more detailed but still impactfull bass to get custom fit.

During his unboxing vid, the clockworks faceplate looks A LOT better than the official Linsoul photos do. Due to glare/reflection and the thickness of the faceplate, it isn’t so easily transparent, thus the gears don’t clash with the innards nearly as much. Nice!

Just ordered a pair from Linsoul. These appear to be sensitive IEMs like the Andromedas. Linsoul shows the impedance at 8.6 - 9.5 Ohms and a sensitivity of 108dB SPL/mW. These could be prone to hiss if you are using a headphone amp/DAP with a higher output impedance like the original Hiby R6. I am going to be using these with a Hiby R5, iFi Micro iDSD BL (built in IEM match), and Schiit Jotunheim so I shouldn't have any hiss issues with those. Not enough reviews out yet, but I would be curious to hear from people who have these if they notice any hiss issues.

Curious to hear your impressions of the L3 with the Jot, thinking of picking on up to break into the balanced market.

I'll definitely let you know how they sound on the Jot through the balanced port. I had to order a new balanced cable with the QDC connector with 4.4mm Pentacon for my R5 DAP along with a 4.4mm to XLR balanced adapter to plug into the Jot. The L3 uses that recessed to 2-pin which adds a whole set of new cables. Just the nature of the hobby! :gs1000smile:Due to the virus I probably won't receive the L3 until late May. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Linsoul has a photo of beautiful white shell design for custom version (also someone posted it on a page 1 of this thread). Unfortunately, flowers must be imprinted on it. I've checked that with their representative. Otherwise would be a no brainer for me. I think I will get a custom design anyway if I like L3. Below $200 is no brainer for my first CIEM.

Ordered mine one week ago (Clockworks), let's hope will arrive soon :L3000:. I wanted to ask for advice on eartips and the nozzle size. I will go with Spinfits and I was wondering which model will fit better (CP-100, CP145 or CP155).

It really depends on your ear canal and the IEM nozzle size. Everyone has different size/shape ears. Do you have Spinfits on any of your current IEMs? If you don't I would recommend you order a couple of different sizes to see what works best. I have never used Spinfit tips, but I have a variety of Symbio tips W (wide), N (narrow) and Peel tips (without foam) - Medium & Large sizes. I really have had great luck with Symbio as far as fit. Also have JVC Spiral Dots, (Medium & Medium-Large) I have noticed on some IEMs that the bass is really softened (i.e. BGVP DM6) with foam tips so my preference has been toward all silcone tips for IEMs where the bass is tamed by the "foamies." Other IEMs like my Fiio FH1 sound great with the foamie tips like the Symbio N and W tips. I would recommend you play around with different type brands and sizes as tips can have a major impact on sound. I just ordered the L3 "Mystique" Color that just shipped. Once they arrive, I will try different tips and let you know which work best for me.

I has a Xduoo Link dac. What do you think, is it compatible with the L3 ?

These just arrived today. Gonna probably write up a full review on here but first impressions are excellent.

What is the model of you Xduoo DAC? Please note I haven't received my L3s yet from Linsoul so I can't test their sensitivity for you right now.

I assume by compatible you mean it will pair/match well with the L3s? Any Xduoo dac/amp model with a headphone jack will be able to play the L3s. If you have one of xDuoo's models like the XD-05 or XD10 (says suitable for 8 - 300 ohm impedance in manual) then you will probably be okay with not being able to detect hiss on the lowest gain setting.

If you have one of their tube amp models like the TA-05 then you are going to hear background hiss. Tube amps have a high OTL output impedance and are best for driving higher impedance full size headphones like Sennheiser HD650s (300 Ohms). A lot of the new DAPs like Fiio M11, Hiby R5, iBasso DX160 should all have no issues with the background hiss when set to low gain.

I personally don't own any Xduoo dac/amps so I cannot test this for you. But maybe someone on this thread has an Xduoo amp they can test for you once they get their pair.

My question was more of which spinfit eartip model will fit the L3 not my ears. Does anyone know the nozzle diameter?
