curious to know what these actually look like! congrats your purchase!

I’ll post a picture when I have them on Monday ...

I also recently bought the 7Hz i99, another specialty Chinese made IEM. I’ve had it for a week or so now, and since it uses a dynamic driver—13.8mm in size—it is a bassy design. I’ll likely do a shoot out between the i99 and the L9. I’ll certainly be writing a review on both models separately.

When did you place your order? I ordered on April 19 and still waiting for tracking number.

I bought these from the classifieds, a day old set. I believe he waited ~6 weeks.

anyone else notice how sensitive these legacy 9 iems are I'm hearing hiss from my xcan I've never heard ?
I don't find them that sensitive tbh and I never heard any hiss from the L9 using my ES100 or Q5s on balanced output.
fair enough might just be my xcan because there's no hiss on my btr5 but annoyingly on the xcan I'm using pure silver balanced anyone else got an xcan they can test these with ? if you do also how insane do these sound when you set the boost to presence it brings the mids perfectly forward

Here is a treat for L9 owners who like using P-EQ. I've been playing with EQ last couple of days and I originally EQ'd L9 to match the 64 Audio Fourte Noir signature, because L9 is not far off from Trio to start with (see my previous posts). The EQ worked really well and I thought it was an upgrade.

But then I thought: let's see what happens if I EQ L9 to match IER Z1R curve. And boy did it work!

The attached is the result. I don't use the 3.5k and 9k points as they can cause some shoutiness, but they are there in case people want them.

Don't be fooled by the "small" reduction in bass. 2.5db is not a lot but it's enough to make the DD much more controlled while providing all the bass you will ever need.

The 11.5k point is subjective. I like it, and it's there in other totl iems like U12t, but you can reduce it a little bit if those cymbals are too much for you. The 5.5k is also a sensitive point. You can reduce it a bit if there's too much energy for you.

All in all I find this to be a clear upgrade to my L9. It's like having a new iem, which is really fun.

Let me know what you guys think!!
