Yeah, no metaphors. None of that useless stuff that college board has you do. None of that impractical stuff learned that the rest of the world does not use or care for. American lit= depressing lit. It's great to know about the books, but at least put them in a history class and have a short synopsis. I personally don't get the "METAPHORS". I pretty sure that the authors MEANT for them to juts be the objects and actions. They should be teaching proper grammar/spelling instead. College board. How I would rebuild you.

I try not to step foot in there as they have a pretty good track record with me.  Been in there three times, came out with new friends twice.  

 
FWIW, years ago, I went in there to see if I could find a little tyke to take home.  Over a dozen of them all had that "pick me" look.  Then I turned the corner and came upon a cool little fella with his ears perked up and head cocked to one side... as if to say "where the heck have you been?  You know how long I've been waiting here?"  I knew right then, he was the one for me.
