My Massdrop OPUS#1 Metal was just delivered.

I was lucky and only live 40 miles from the mass drop warehouse.

Now I have 2 of them and an OPUS#2.

2 metals and an opus2?

2 metals and an opus2?

Yep, I originally wanted to buy the Metal and after hearing the #2 at CanJam NYC I wanted that cause the price at the time wasn't much more. Then the #2 price went back up so I bought the first Metal. Then 2 days after I bought the Metal the price dropped back on the #2 and I bought that. I figured the #2 would be for serious listening and the Metal for when I'm taking a train or in the car. I was using my FiiO for when I ride my indoor cycle but was frustrated over it's sound and UI so I was thinking of picking a #1 to use. But once I saw the Massdrop and that the Metal was more than half of what I payed for mine and not much more than the non-metal, I decided what the hell and bought it. Plus I love the Metal so much I wanted to have a spare incase anything every happened to the first Metal (which I've already chipped the front and back glass with the protectors on it).

So know you know why I have 2.

I dunno. It feels like at half the price of Opus 2. The improvements of Opus 2 are small - medium and require critical listening.

And from what others say it's closer to Opus 2 than Opus 1. No doubt Opus 2 is more refined in sound than Opus 3. But it feels like paying 1k+ for those refinements. I need to question whether something like andromeda would be better priority over 2.

I did get a jupiter used for 380 usd here. Kind headfier :D
