Hoping someone see's this and has a fix or my DSDs is toast. DAC Mode does NOT work. I've flashed .5c & .5d firmware and no iOS/Mac OS/Windows will see it as an audio device. Plays music from the SD Card. Thoughts
USB DAC is enabled in settings, of course?

Flashing is done by putting the firmware file on the root directory of the SD card. Then power up. Once it done. Take out the SD and delete the firmware file.

never had a problem with the WaZe FB group
tends to be mostly about hacks with the walnut and earlier Zishan Z1-3 models not so much on the DSD.
David B is an actve member.
Lots of info on opamp rolling and accessories.
Again not so much emphasis on the DSD or T1 series

Does anyone have a spiritual successor to the Walnut V2? It's not in production anymore and literally impossible to source a V2S even second-hand.

What's the newest DAP that has a more analogue-like sound - does Zishan have one? The Z1 sounds more crisp/analytical (less analogue) to me.

In searching AliExpress for "portable mp3 player", I don't see any of the type of less than $50 devices that can be easily opened for op-amp rolling.
There appears to be some $80 - $120 Zishan and F.Audio devices that look similar to the V2S, but they have display screens.
Everything else has a more sealed, phone-like design.

No more option to chante stock OP-AMP? 😔

They are using a good op-amp in the TI OPA1622 - but it's a surface-mount VSON-10 package, rather than a 8-pin surface-mount or DIP package.
