That's what my DSD 4495 looks like. Slightly different from the original :beyersmile:

Is this the 4499 zishan? You replaced only one resistor ? I am considering buying one but have some doubts (4hours +heat) Are there any other modifications can be made here? Like removing those ceramics on the left side. I currently have ibasso dx90, is it worth upgrade? looking for wider 3D sound stage. Спасибо

No, both

4hours + heat --- only in Turbo mode. In normal mode, at least 7 hours
Are there any other modifications can be made here? - Yes
dx90 is a nice player, but the scene in DSD is slightly different and great

I bought 2 pieces muses02 from Aliexpress and Mouser electronics. Those with part numbers K03 came from Mouser Electronics. Do you think it is fake in all the products that come to me ?

Thank you for sharing! why this 470 cap is only one? Is it power supply or a coupling cap? I thought it should be symmetric (must be power then). And ceramics on the left, what are they for, can they be removed to, if they are coupling caps, they definitely affect the sound. I am hesitating between the 4499 and 4497x2 models. I wonder which will give a wider scene, theoretically, 2 dedicated processors would do a better job in this regard(?) So, you never switch to Turbo, is the sound good enough in normal mode? You put a sandwich in place of MUSE, would an original Muse not be better ? СПАСИБО

Few Zishan DSD AK4497EQ mods:

1. Removed output capacitors and added them to 9V pool, added 0.1uF bypass caps on top of 10uF stock ones.
2. Replaced filter opamps for AD8599ARZ, AD8620ARZ in substractor.
3. Replaced 3.3V and 5V LDOs for low-noise ones (also around CPLD), caps replaced for 10uF XR7
4. Replaced oscillators for 25PPM MEMS.
5. Replaced input caps for Nichicon BP Muse 10uF

Improvements are incremental yet substantial, of a special note reduction in upper mids and highs harshness (my main issue with stock AK4497 DSD) and slightly better defined lows after LDO replacement and less grainy highs after oscillators upgrade, switching filters produces more noticeable effect too.

Hi
I have dropped my zishan dsd. Since then both 3.5mm and 2.5mm Headphone ports not working. Some buzz sound but no music.
I am unable to find where the problem is. I guess you can help me find the problem.

Thanks in advance.

If the DSD boots and the screen displays, but both outputs have stopped working, then there's probably an issue with the power supply or oscillators on the analog (DAC) board.

Mouser is an official sales channel for Muses as you can see from NJR site:
https://www.njr.com/MUSES/series/MUSES02.html
The Muses you bought here are genuine for sure.

The ones you got from Aliexpress can be fake.
There are a lot of remarked (fake) opamps in Ali.

If you want to be sure it's genuine, it's better to buy from the official distributor.

If you have a multimeter you can try to measure the resistance between some pins and compare the Mouser that is genuine with the Ali:
Visually, my chip passes the fake test. Checking the pin resistances against a Mouser sourced authentic (between pins 3, 5, 6 & 8 to pin 4), it also passes the fake test. Audio wise... Yep swapping it out for an authentic op-amp, it sounds identical.

All this theoretical talk gives me headache! I bought the 4499, and I'll share my finding when it gets here. I don't care for it to be a portable device, i just wanted to try it as a dac. I'm sure I can get something good out of it
I ordered mine 2x4497mainly to use a portable device, as it’s dac functionality is limited with 16bit. Did you get it anyway, what are the sound impressions, build quality, etc? Thanks
