Nice ideas about modularity, but I can see a couple of sticking-points with that line of thinking:

  1. The number of connection-points for complex modules could be a real headache, both in the design stage and in terms of reliability, out in the marketplace.

  1. Fiio want their transport to be usable with their dedicated DAC-Amp devices, so would be unlikely to wish to undermine that approach with a tiny DAC-Amp module.

I'm neither for or against. I'm only pointing-out what I see as potential complications.

not, it is too complex and also you need to consider we wil lhave to make it has the same shape as X7 . that will make it bigger than we expected.

yes, I knew the issues so this will based on linux and we will have a total new platform for this project. otherwise we will not dare to design it. of course it take time.

Thats good, Linux with UAC2 support and good kernel will be a win win, can't wait to order one FiiO T3.

If its not too much to ask for then maybe open up some parts of the code so that the community can contribute bug fixes and new features.
(Considering the fact that a lot of production grade systems are running community software these days)

Normally when modifying and using Linux for redistribution, manufacturers are bound by licence terms to share the source code of their modified platform.

There have been countless GPL violations mostly by smartphone manufacturers. If I'm not wrong, the same applies to FiiO's own X7 and iBasso's DX series both of which run Android and in turn Linux. But the whole point in getting the community involved is just to improve the software development process as a whole.

Wow, this looks like a dream!

What's the ETA? (As soon as possible, please!)
And what are the dimensions? (As small as possible, please!)

PS I also wanted to say I think FiiO's new slogan "born for Music And Happy" is adorable, stupid and also very true. I mean, what human being isn't born for Music and Happy? (Aside from people born deaf of course)

Thank you for the quick answer regarding large libraries, very much appreciated!
If you keep the good build quality along with proper software, you'll have a ton of customers for sure, given your very competitive pricing policy.

Another idea----a charging dock for T3 and it has a bypass digital output, which can be connected to the external desktop DAC.
