I haven't noticed much change. I think back when I had the other 007 I was using a Chord Mojo as a dac. My previous was a 007 mk1 but came in a mk2 box. I want to say my initial impression is that the former 007 I had was darker. This seems just right! The Denafrips is a fantastic dac!

I had original pads on them. I did take them off once, I wanted to do a port mode. That was when I found out it was actually an mk1. It liked to kill me getting them back on!
Somebody today was talking about achieving audio nirvana listening to The White Stripes album Elephant. I have to agree. It's giving me all kind of "you are there" vibes.
I didn't think so. Someone asked me on a different community all the differences between a BHSE and a BH BJT and I was like I'm not an EE and not going to pretend to be one but I don't think they are radically different since its 2 boxes and 4 EL34 tubes. My X9000 sounds the same out of the BJT as it did on the BHSE at a meetup. I haven't had the chance to have them side to side and "hot swap" while pressing pause tho.
For sure. The objectivist in me wonders if there is really any difference between an "end game" amp like the Carbon and a Megaton XL or not. The 300B tube doesn't have any magic powers. Its just a big expensive tube. The subjectivist in me would love to spend the day with it on my setup.

I bought my Carbon amp from a guy who had a BHSE too. He said the BHSE is better than the Carbon regarding practically all audio qualities except bass. That was with SR-009S, not SR-007 series.

I currently have a BHSE, T1S CCs modded and have owned the MT, carbon, KGST, novem, multiple kgssHV, and many others.
It is of my opinion that the carbon is superior most of the time to the BHSE. This is especially true to my ears with the 007, LNS, sr-omega and 009S.
I may prefer the BHSE for the x9k and CRBN, but I find both of those headphones perform well on other amplifiers over the BHSE.
I have personally found I prefer the megatron with all headphones over the BHSE and the 007 is a toss up between the Carbon, mostly leaning towards the Megatron. LNS is the only headphone I strongly prefer on the Carbon over Megatron.
For other note: I have had time with a T2 (but not owned) and found it superior to the MT for the most part, but there is a softness the MT presents that is unique and why I’ve paid for a 2nd unit.

I simply cannot stress this enough. These conversations are so subjective, we have our preferences, and we are incredibly biased. You have to just hear them yourself with considerable time.. and until then try to understand how your preferences align with others to weigh their feedback. Otherwise a randomized "x person believes product A is better in every way over product B" is really just completely meaningless. (and I don't mean your post is meaningless, I mean I wouldn't really put much stock in that person's words unless there's great context and alignment with what I like, or if I heard it myself with time.
You will not gain consensus on the BHSE vs. Carbon, or the T2 vs. Megatron or other amps. And it would be helpful if ppl could give more clarity as to "why" they feel whatever way they do, and with the genres they prefer to listen to, and the main qualities of sound most important to them. Otherwise it just isn't really valuable.

In my opinion the Carbon is more detailed and hits harder, the clarity of the Carbon makes some headphones like the X9000 sound brighter then they actually are.
I agree with this video:
I realize tho that reading/hearing popular opinions influences your own subjective opinions
Hm, i always wonder, why people think, that the Mjolnir Carbon is bright. For me personally it is quite dark. Also find it funny, that people compare power of amps by looking how far the Volume knob is turned to the right. I don't think, that it makes sense to compare power of amps like that.
But his review is very entertaining
