playing with earpads is fun, I tossed some shure 840 pads on the ATH es70 and the sound that came through is freaking amazing,

yeah just before today i took some pads from realistic nova 40s. and Fit right on top of the Stock pads on the beyers to add more room between my ears and the drivers.. seems alot more clarity.

Correct,  I mean The Sony's Drivers are so big they create their own sound stage. The beyers Drivers arent that Big, Bu The farther away your ear is from the driver, I concluded the Soundstage increases

Those DT770 pros look to be stretched to hell with the XB700 pads on top of the velours...

Wish I would've tried that. I had sent the XB700s back before I got the 770 pros.

They are stechted alil, But they were tight fit on my head without the pads.. SO i can srtech em alil.. ANd Hmm ID look Completly stupid in publc with these, i could Smack into people by just turningmy head :)

ANd The Pads arent Fully attached just sitting there. im just expirmenting. i like the sony drivers..

Yeah, They Fit nicely over the Beyerpads.. also they act like a cover to  keep the integrity of the original pads.

That is some SERIOUS distance between your ears and the drivers.

Depth aside, how does the sound compare vs the regular velours? If those are the DT770 Pro 80s...they already had an amazing soundstage for a closed can...

yes they do, Tthey are the beyer 770 pro80. But i like the club like feel, Of the sonys. and since i cant combine the 2 drivers easliy. I Tried the easyiest thing, the pads.  and it gives me a interesting Difference.
im still evaluating them as we speak.

Ah. well ive noticed the farther they get away from my ear. the quality of the song actually increases.  For example Like, the farther away they are, The become less Mono Like and more like True Stereo.
