The Shenzhen Benjie BJ-T6 / AGPtek Rocker

Ok thanks for your responses related to the flashing of the new firmware ! (will flash mine in the near future)

So far quite impressed with the player. Easy to navigate, strong build, and the 'sharp corners' don't bother me at all as some pointed out...

I mean, just putting inside my pocket of a jacket, is easy. Who would hold the player in his hands all the time if u are listening? me no.. :)

Just another question, anybody has a nice arm band for this player so i can go running with it, while the player hangs on my arm? The 'generic' ones are far too big/wide and are mostly made for Iphones or Android phones sizes..

Does AGPTEK plan to release a 'arm band' for sport for this player?

greetings

Hello.

@PJABBER, thank you for linking my impressions from the spanish forum. I posted in Amazon a bigger and detailed review (in spanish also):

https://www.amazon.es/ROCKER-Bluetooth-Reproductor-Metalico-Calidad/product-reviews/B01NBRJBOH/ref=dpx_acr_txt?showViewpoints=1

In summary (IMHO), about the sound, I think AGPTek H1 has a better and bigger sound, more detailed, better separation, better low extension, bigger soundstage. I find Rockers' sound with a certain emphasis on the mid centric range.
In other aspects I consider the Rocker player better than the H1 (UI, formats supported, transfer speed, size, weight, memory size support, etc...). Of course, the Rockbox possibility will be a big advantage from others players at this price.

I do not like that there are no more detailed specifications (power,THD+N,Frequency Response, Crosstalk, etc.).

On the relationship between the two brands (Benjie, AGPTek), hunterleo wrotes in rockbox forum:

In this rockbox thread I readed something about AGPTek is planning to develop a higher level player, is T8 this new player?

Bye.

I have delay buying for 2 reasons:
1. Rockbox
2. T8

If T6 gets the box I'm in. When the T8 comes out I'll compare.

That guy on the Rockbox discussion said the battery life of the Rocker is only 9+ hours. I guess I could deal with it but expected more since I still marvel at the absurd amount of hours I get on the Benjie X1.

Bye.

The H1 is a rebranding of the Aigo MP3-105, looks like an interesting DAP, though 2X the price of the T6/Rocker.

As they are available, I include the specifications for the T6/Rocker in the first post of this thread and in the review I have posted here - http://www.head-fi.org/products/agptek-rocker-bluetooth-4-0-mp3-player-high-resolution-lossless-music-player-for-audiophile-supports-up-to-256gb-black. You should post your review as well!

This DAP has quite a bit of untapped potential, so am hoping that Benjie and AGPtek stick with it to get a more fully realized firmware and maybe even some incremental hardware upgrades, like a better screen. And a Rockbox app will be interesting as well. The Ingenic X1000 SoC that the T6/Rocker uses is also in the Cayin N3 and likely other DAPs in the future, so a Rockbox app developed for this DAP can be much more quickly ported to others.

The last I heard is the Benjie T8 will be out sometime mid-year. Should be competitive with higher end DAPs in the market, but no indication that Rockbox will take this one on as a port or app.

I have an invite from Shenzhen Benjie to spend some time with them when I am next in China but as of now I'll be in a different region. They are going to be exhibiting at AsiaWorld-Expo, right next to the Hong Kong airport, for the Global Sources Electronics Sourcing Show, Booth No.: 6T09, Apr. 18-21, 2017 if you are in the area and would like to meet up with them! http://www.globalsources.com/TRADESHOW/HONGKONG-MOBILE-ELECTRONICS.HTM?source=TSCGSE_INDEX_CENTERWEL_E_LEARN

Hello.

@PJABBER: Thank you for your review and specs from the Rocker, I had not seen them.

I think that H1 is a rebranding of Aigo 108, but in my country (Spain) it's only 25 € more expensive than Rocker.

https://www.amazon.es/AGPTek-metal-Reproductor-pulgadas-pantalla/dp/B01HB1HF76/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489958186&sr=8-1&keywords=agptek+H1

https://www.amazon.es/ROCKER-Bluetooth-Reproductor-Metalico-Calidad/dp/B01NBRJBOH/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1489958198&sr=8-1&keywords=agptek+rocker

Some specs of H1:

https://es.aliexpress.com/store/product/Aigo-patriot-mp3-player-108-hifi-music-player-portable-8g/816277_32644476722.html

I knowk that H1 is an end of life product, for this reason I hope, that you said, better firmware implementation and rockbox implementation for Rocker player. But I think that the sound will not be better than H1.

I hope, also, that T8 will be based in android to get better user experience.

Thank you for all info.
