...hopefully you can see the difference in the casting/moulding ...as I said ..it is still beautifully made and feels solid....pretty sure its not metal tho .... some kind of plastic i guess and considerably lighter than the original. The cost saving presumably also allowed them to bundle a couple of extra bits with it too...this is how my Mk2 arrived ..

I realize I'm quoting my own post, but I mentioned these silicone cases, but recently found one that fits even better. The Sony Walkman NW-E390 Series is almost identical in shape and size to the Rocker/T6, and their silicone cases fit great! All that's needed is to cut a little bit out of the bottom for the headphone jack.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I532Z92

Here are some pictures of the case on my T6

Nice find! Unfortunately its $12 incl shipping to the Netherlands and I can't find this on Aliexpress. :triportsad:

Not that I am aware of ..... but I'm not really placed to know. Doesnt seem to be any mention of a Mk2 on their website but as I say ... from what I can tell its just the case that is different so calling it a Mk2 is perhaps a bit much. Sonically they sound identical to my ears ...

Could you confirm - Are they the exact same size? Not sure if it is just me, but from your pictures, the Mk2 looks slightly wider. Would the Sony E series skin still fit?

I'm very seriously considering purchasing, but need to figure out a few things. My fingers are crossed that Rockbox Bluetooth will be forthcoming, as this would be essential for me. Have not used Rockbox for 5 years, so looking forward to it. I have a Sansa Fuze+, but using it was way too frustrating (due to touch button design problems) to use.

Was going to order from Amazon Canada, so that if I don't like it, can easily return it. Also, I would get it in a day thanks to Prime.I'm not certain if the listing is for V1 or V2.

When I visit the Agptek page for Rocker V2, and select Amazon Canada, it takes me to a V1 listing.

https://www.agptek.com/product/agpt...ital-audio-player-supports-up-to-256gb-black/

https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01NBRJBOH
Model number listed as FBA_MC15B-FBA, which is V1.

It could be that they simply have not updated the listing, which is both annoying and shady (the listing and reviews are for 4 differing models).

Amazon Canada does have a V2 listing, which is presently set to "currently unavailable": https://www.amazon.ca/AGPtEK-Bluetooth-Resolution-Lossless-Supports/dp/B06X9GZHK1

I guess I will contact to make sure. Aliexpress listings for Benjie T6 seem to be for v1.

I'd prefer the lighter v2, as I would be using it while cycling and using transit. Definitely need a skin in case I drop it.

Not sure if this helps, but I had ordered mine (July 2017) from Amazon.it. The one I had ordered was listed (back then) as "AGPTEK ROCKER Bluetooth Lettore MP3 Metallo con Suono di Alta Qualità (Supporta fino a 256 GB Micro SD Card), Color Nero" and the photo was clearly showing the V1. However I received the V2 to my (nice) surprise. I now see that they have changed the photo that (now) shows V2 with the round corners. Still no "V2 clarification" is listed at the title. If Amazon was sending the V2 since almost one year ago, I find it difficult for it to have stock of V1 anymore. But of course I cannot confirm this.

Now to me this seems to be the V2 (round corners) but you should probably ask them.

I haven't read through the whole thread, but has anybody taken apart one of these things? I assume that piece of glass/plastic on the back pries off and you go from there. Mostly just curious but I might not mind doing a battery upgrade at some point.

Did you manage to find more info on this?
Since the major complaint seems to be battery life, perhaps the problem is with the batteries themselves (and not firmware).

The Rockbox take apart pics seem to indicate two wire solders, which is easy (compared to soldering an Apple 4th gen nano battery ribbon cable).

Thanks for your effort!

I just noticed that within the Amazon Canada posting, V2 is actually mentioned in the description.

Can anyone confirm that V1 (non rounded corners, metal) and V2 (rounded corners, plastic) are the same size?
More importantly - what are the skin options for V2?
That is to say - would all previous suggested skins still work?

I'm hoping to figure out skin options in advance, as it will likely take some time to order and ship to Canada for a reasonable price. For example, the Sony E series skins would cost $18 more to ship to Canada (on eBay - Amazon link does not ship to Canada). If anyone has any suggestions for non USA sources for a good v2 skin, I'd appreciate it. Shipping and pricing from Asia is insanely cheaper - it simply is a crapshoot for shipping times (1-2 months).

My plan would be to order the skin and wait for delivery, then order the device from Amazon Canada (two day shipping) where there is a 30day money back return.

I'm in no rush, especially as Bluetooth is not functional for Rockbox (fingers crossed)

the Mk2 does look as if it might be wider...but..its an illusion because of the bevelled edge ... they are exactly the same size .....I'll try another pic ..lol
100% ....exactly the same size ..

Its not surprising that there is confusion surrounding which model is actually being sold. If the manufacturer themselves dont acknowledge a difference...then any retailer is not likely to either. It is probably down to little more than a sharp-eyed retailer ..who happens to notice that his recent delivery is different to the previous! ... and then he may.... or may not ... decide that it warrants an amended listing...

in other words .. left to chance and completely random .... which doesnt help the prospective buyer one bit !

this was the Lazada listing that I went for ...purely because of the word 'Newest' ....pic is actually a Mk1 ...go figure....

Question - Has there been an update to the rockbox port since the files @breeman listed in post 502? (Wondering if anything's happened with bluetooth)

Thanks!

(I finally got a Rocker in, like it. In my case the photo was of the newer version, but what I received was the earlier, sharp corner, one - a shrug since it immediately went into a silicone case. The Benjie T6 ordered via AE got lost in shipping.)
