The Monster Miles Davis Trumpets are tuned eerily similar to the Sennheiser IE800's. Very similar in all it's qualities. The Trumpets have a narrower soundstage, but not by much, and the bass is just a touch more refined in the IE800, but again, not by much.

Audio Technica CK10 was crazy, just a bit too sharp sounding. Westone UM3X also up there with amazing timbre for a BA set. 262 and 272.. just wow, so much texture and detail. I tried so hard to make those but couldn't with the 2k peak.

Hifiman 262? RE0's are almost impossible to find, and even a used 262? forget about it!

Ain’t that the truth. I wasn’t crazy about the 0 or “zero.” My biggest purchase to this day was the HM801 used for $600 cuz I just had to try it balanced with my 262 lol
did it make any difference? I bought a HM801, messed it up by rockbox'ing it, and sold it to someone who said they could fix it.

I bought an HM603 that was rockboxed but not working right so I had to uninstall it. And nah, balanced just made the bass punch harder and treble sharper but you don’t really want that with the 262, actually better with daps that have treble extension cuz it can sparkle well despite being relaxed. Complaints about HM602/3, poor sub bass reproduction. 601? Grainy treble plus roll off makes it suffocating to listen to. You can’t win.. 602/3 has amazing mids though, smoother than 801.

Loved the 262! That there was my gateway iem that really got me into this hobby! In fact, I do still have mine with original packaging I think! I'll have to look for it in storage. And I would be willing to sell it if you are looking for one. Hit me up if interested!
