I thought I had stop buying tubes but when I step into the world of 6y6 tubes, an avalanche of tubes started coming. These 3 NOS Ken Rad 6y6g in original boxes came today and cost just US$27.50 for 3 brand new tubes !!!

6y6g is a beam tetrode power tube first introduced in 1937.

Initial listen reveal that unmistakable Ken Rad bass. When paired with a Brimar CV455 Footscray driver, it's a million dollar tune.

Yes those are beautiful tubes Matt and you are right that the bass is exceptional, rest of the frequencies also quite well presented. Congrats

Wonder if this could help out those folks that bought amps that use KT150 tubes. Of course just because you can use it doesn’t mean you should lol.

4689/EL5 and 4689/EL6 to EL34
4654/EL50 to EL34

IF I were ever to get another amp I’d get two power sockets that would take these power tubes natively and another two power sockets for KT66/EL34/etc @A2029

KT66/KT88/EL34 are still my fav tubes. Those EL5 and EL50 are rather special.

Really like those adapters! Way nicer looking than the usual fare. Except now I'm gonna have to get all new adapters from Deyan.
