The Linlai is a well-balanced tube. Great alternative to some NOS tubes

Great thanks for the info. Do you know if they are alot wider in size than standard 6sn7s I'm trying to see if it will fit in my TA26 with shouldered power tube

Ive done it with 400 sand paper. I put the pin inside the crease the sandpaper creates when folded and sanded all the pins down. It worked like magic. Thanks guys!
I use to clean them afterwards with electronic spray on a cotton bud. This removes a lot of dirt that won't accumulate in the amp socket.

As with many Chinese tubes the Linlai 6SN7 comes as several variants at different price points. Does anybody know if there is any real difference between the lower priced and higher priced tubes of the same designation?
Some of the tubes are for wholesale distribution (although available from Chinese vendors) and others for individual sale, with a large spread in price.
Historically this is a new development. I’m the past you could find more rugged or longer life variants of the same tube, (and sometimes tubes with tighter tolerances and less microphonics) but not fancier packaging, print, or color schemes or different shapes (globes vs ST etc).

Can you check back in 50-60 years? By then Head-Fi will have developed a holy grail canon for these models to provide the definitive 'historically-correct' answer.

I bought mine from Grant Fidelity. I wasn't looking to hem and haw about it

Bought this tube the other day, very nice sound, but more for the reason that I already own a pair for Envy…and it just seemed logical 😜 to buy a single for the Crack! I only posting now with a few pics as I like the box. Sad I know 😀.

Always a fan of NU sound...have various 6SN7/VT-231 versions, 6C8G, 6G6G.

I personally would clean them using deoxit which is a cleaning spray for electronics. If you don't you could end up corroding the socket in your amp
Be very careful that deoxit goes nowhere near the glass as it very easily removes print on the glass. Also don’t want to get deoxit anywhere near the tube sockets.

I use a Dremel with 3mm wool felt mounts. Maybe for very badly corroded pins you might want something more extreme, but I’d be very careful. Most of the tube pins I see just need a good clean.
