Should be, as long as the cable is balanced. I have some adaptors for 2.5mm balanced to Pono balanced so I can use the cables I have

Is anybody using iFi IEMatch with the Pono and IEMs? Does the Sound improve?
Can’t say much about sound quality, but iEMatch definitely eliminates hissing, and lowers the output volume.

If you’re sensitive to hisses or prefer to listen at low volume, and want to use high sensitivity multi BA IEMs with Pono, I think it’s worth trying.

Hi guys, I just purchased my first Pono player.
I use many MMCX IEMs like MEE Audio P1.
If I want to use Pono's balanced out, which cable should I use?
I have MEE Audio universal MMCX which comes with 3.5mm balanced jack but it looks like some guys are using two 3.5mm jacks on Pono?
Which cable do you guys use for balanced MMCX on Pono?

@udesign48 you need a cable with 2 3.5mm jacks which are designed to work balanced with Pono or Sony PHA-3... they look like normal 3.5mm jacks (with 2 black rings on them), but they are internally wired to be used balanced. The usual balanced jacks (with 3 black rings, separating 4 contact zones) are not suitable to be used directly with Pono.

I personally use a Moon Audio Silver Dragon cable terminated for Pono, and I also bought this adapter: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/8-c...121.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dKTAG7k and asked them to switch the female XLR termination to a 4.4mm female termination, so I could use my other 4.4mm balanced cables with the Pono.... it's less good than a dedicated cable, of course, but it's not too bad.

Hope that helps

I had used the Sony MUC-M12BL2 cable with N3AP and E5000, but I'm not sure if it's compatible with over-the-ear IEMs.

Edit: Just tried them on UM PRO 30 and the connectors fit good. Should be OK with P1.

I've never heard about that kind of cable....
Is there any 2 3.5mm balanced with MMCX termination?

Thanks
