The Perfect Push-Up

^ Hah, planches are ridiculous. I know a couple people that can planche on their FINGERTIPS. They just don't like having a flat palm is all, but it makes for a good look.

Never knew that's what they were called though...I always just knew they were just insanely hard, or called footless pushups, but not upside down, lol.

One of what? I don't see a link in your post

.

I recently bought "Perfect Pushups" and they take a huge burden off my rotator cuffs and work out more of my triceps.

He's referring to the Perfect Push-up, the very one you purchased.

Hmm, are you doing regular push-ups properly? They should murder your triceps, as long as you haven't reached your bodyweight limit. Keep your back straight, abs tight, and your hands should be under your shoulders with your elbows pointing toward your legs. You should be trying to get your chest to the floor without bending your back, and look forward, not down to the floor. Do NOT flare your elbows, or use momentum to propel yourself up and down. If you want to stress the triceps even more, put your hands under your eyes like a diamond.

I can't even do normal pushups D:

Sometimes I can manage going up then I just fall flat going down and can't get back up again.

You're either really weak or have a horrible weight/height/strength ratio. (meaning you're really damn weak)

Or all of the above.

I don't doubt the effectiveness of push-ups. If oicdn is trying to gain muscle mass then I think it's a bad idea to do them on his rest day for chest/shoulders IF he's doing a high intensity routine. Muscles grow between workouts so hitting that same muscle group on rest day is short-circuiting that process IMO.

I lift heavy only twice per week doing just bench press, rows and deadlifts with ab work in one session ( one hour). The next day I'm usually pretty beat up and sore feeling.

Well yeah, I assumed he'd do them as part of his main routine if they were used as max strength exercises. But at his current state, non-weighted push-ups are great as part of a light upper body workout. (Though I'm not exactly sure what kind of routine he's actually been doing)
