Don't worry about cables, invest the money into a better set of IEMs instead. The stock cables that Penon sells with their IEMs are great and going to have the exact same performance as more expensive ones.
A tip since you are new here (and this is not specific to this thread or anyone here): Whenever you are reading a review from a brand promoter (ie paid in free review samples), keep in mind that there is going to be a bias and you may not always get the full picture about a product. These sort of reviews are fine to use as a starting point, but do your own research and wait for impressions from people who purchased the product with their own money.
I am going back n forth from the Neo 5 and the Dome. From how I understand it. Penon bases an IEM price based on what they perceive as the sound value and what is the competition in the market for said type of IEM. You guys know ISN sub brand is generally based on more colored tunings meaning ISNs will generally have the bigger bass presence. Minus one Penon Turbo which is clearly an outlier. Penon branded IEMs are generally more balanced and are Penons premium marketed IEMs. So it will depend more on taste and what your preferences are.
Thank you for such a full description! That's far more than I hoped for, and you have really helped a lot. We know that any Penon release will be good, but often it is hard to know how it compares to the existing lineup. I think a lot of others will find your comparison very useful too.
I'll try to sit this one out as I prefer their more bass heavy models. And I already have 8 of their IEMs. Soon to be 9 as the Neo1 looks gorgeous!

Thanks Acuno, it's good to know the cables that come with Penon IEM's are good quality. I think if any company releases a quality IEM that at least the included cables and ear tips should be of similar quality.
Has anyone tried both Kiwi Ears Quintet and Penon Fan 2? How does the 2 IEMs compared to each other? I am seriously considering between the 2 as I love natural sounding IEMs with good technicality. I can buy the Fan 2 at around 140$ so around 70$ cheaper than Quintet but I think the upcoming 11.11 sale will make Quintet price a bit cheaper. Thanks!

Quintet is more V-shaped (bigger treble/bass). The Quintet is more technical/analytical and is thinner in note weight, but is more fatiguing in the treble. Quintet also has worse timbre, with a piezo zing noted in the treble.
Graph of Quintet versus Fan 2 (8 kHz is a coupler artefact).
Fan 2 is warm neutral, with way more organic timbre and is less fatiguing. Lusher mids too. Based on your description of wanting something "natural sounding", probably the Fan 2 is better tonally.

Will give everyone a breakdown of the Neo1 when I get my paws on them soon enough.
I was fortunate enough to try a prototype of them and at the price Penon will be asking for them it will be a no brainer. Even better news is that I was told the production unit will be even better than the prototype. Thats what I am talking about! Should have a production unit by early next week at the latest. I am definitley looking forward to hearnig them.
