glad you liked the THX00 with the Ebony as much as I did.  Definitely an incredible pairing.  Plus I love the all black look with the THX00 hardware and the ebony wood.

Would SMCs fit in the stock location without modifiying the interior of the headphone?

yes, which has been the main reason for using SMC.  2.5mm jacks will require routing the metal and wood for the slightly larger opening.  SMC essentially creates the jack outside of the headphone.

Thanks, that's interesting - I was planning to rid my life of SMC in favor of 2.5mm, but maybe I'll be better off with SMC and a SMC-->3.5mm adapter cable.
