The PRO4AAAT looks to be an open design while the MV1 looks to be closed. Also the MV1 looks to have a little better quality padded headband.

Agpth! Damn you, Koss! I still wanna hold them. They look pretty slick! Which NYCer is going to bite the bullet and buy them to bring around to meets?

hey, swt - i thought the same thing but then i read TempestX' review on the PRO4AAT and he said they were closed - unless i read it wrong. so i assumed that the AAATs were also closed. they sure do look open in the pics though. can anyone verify?

Sorry for confusion. I have the 2003 Pro4AA T's which are closed. So correction, the Pro4AAA T's appear to be open, possibly a hybrid like the UR 40's, since Koss likes hybrid closed/open.

Immtbiker---which pair did you review? At work right now so can't type too much with my boss next to me from San Antonio.

Looking forward to your article... So the AAAT =

Can you also compare it to a KSC75/35 or portapro?

My 650's spec out at .05 nowhere near .1

I think the triple A's are completely different. But I could be wrong (and am a lot of the time).

i think you're right, swt. i downloaded the high res pics from koss' site and you can definitely see through the grills. also, i went back to see their double As and these triple As are completely different. it's kind of odd, actually - the MV1 looks to be more of the bigger brother to the double As and the triple As to be a long lost cousin that nobody knew about and just showed up.

i would probably go ahead and pull the trigger on these out of curiousity's sake but the previous poster's strong lackluster response to them makes me hesitate. not that i'm going to let one person's opinion totally convince me but i also don't feel like potentially pissing $150 into the wind. guess i need more encouragement from you guys to take one for the team!

They have a 30 day return policy at koss.com, so I'm seriously considering it. Though I'd go for the MV1 as I have no use for another open headphone.

Edit: I bit - 1 MV1 ordered. Looks like I'm taking one for team KOSS here. We already have a review coming out on the 4AAA, so the MV1 is the unknown.

excellent! i, too, am more interested in the MV1. i've been in the market for a closed can. did you get free shipping? i went through the ordering for the triple As and not only got the discount but free shipping. $120 shipped - not bad at all.

I upped the shipping speed actually, so it was $10. Considering I can return them, $10 is fair to get them quickly.

I'll let you all know when they arrive. I'll give them as much burn-in as I can and then write a review.

sorry - didn't mean to be unclear but i didn't actually pull the trigger on the triple As. i just took the ordering up to the point where i could find out if the discount would work and what the shipping would be but then cancelled out. i think i'm first going to wait to hear about the MV1s. i really don't need another set of open cans. of course when has that stopped me before!
