The suspended tubes are designed to look like the upper half of a sine wave.
It's meant to represent the transition from tube tech to silicon tech. The NP100v12 is the centerpiece -- it has a tube voltage gain stage and a MOSFET current gain stage. The faux bamboo siding (which is actually an invasive weed, heh) suggests that most electronics manufacturing moved to Asia.
So not quite an Xmas tree (though I see the resemblance). I like the idea of tube Christmas ornaments, though. I think I may make a couple for my girlfriend as Christmas gifts...
