Honestly really excited to see how this will turn out as their other gear is already pretty damn good for gaming. My only concern is the long term comfort as that has been a big issue in the past.

Wondering if a cable with the mic will be released separately. Would be great to be about to use it with my current LCD's.

The weight?
My guess is around 500 grams. They use the lightweight structure materials as the MX4 (which weight 550 grams), but have less magnets so it will weigh less. Also the suspension strap they use is very comfy and good at evenly distributing the wee eight without hot spots. So they aren't light, but will be among the lightest Audeze

That would be interesting but I feel like that might undermine it as a separate gaming headphone. Hopefully they do release it separately.
The magnet array, driver, and tuning are different than their other headphones, so it is still a unique product even if it didnt have the mic. I think it sounds really good. Definitely like them more than the LCD-X. Maybe not better than the LCD 2C, but they sound different so I would place them at around the same level of quality.

I had a chance to try them out and I think you're about right; don't know the exact weight but they felt in the realm of the MX's, Not sure I'd use them for gaming over the Mobius but they look nice; I like the red styling.

Another thread has one person being told by Audeze they weighed 460 grams. A reviewer stated 420 grams. That 40 grams could make a difference I think.
Either way, it's just a bit lighter than average, and at least tied for their lightest large planar (not counting Mobius, or their painfully small on ear headphones).

I tried them a couple days ago and they were definitely lighter than the other audeze. That couples with the nice suspension strap and I think they are pretty darn comfortable. And they just sound good, the addition of the mic is a cool plus but even without it they are good headphones even if you don't game with them. I liked them more than the lcdX, and honestly sounded pretty close to the 4z. They are also comparatively easy to drive. The sounded at least 80% as good as the 4z to me, maybe it could use a bittt more bass but nothing I couldn't eq

How would you say they differ in terms of sound? I imagine them being a more V-shaped headphone with a little more air.

Is it open back phone?

Yes

The weight?

Official grams on website, but they are indeed much lighter than all the other LCD. I could not game or have the LCD2 on my head for long, I got neck fatigue.

The LCD GX is heavier than other gaming headsets (its still an audiophile LCD headphone at its base platform) but its very doable. I can and have gone 3-4 hours in Apex, Payday, with it no issues.

More airy sounding and slightly thinner than the LCD2 and most others on the market. Its definitely trimmed some of the fat in regards to full on detail, timbre, texture and the thicccc sensation of some of the notes on the higher tier LCDs in exchange for a forward active sound with good tonal balance.

It's not overly bassy, its not overly mid centric, its pretty much center field in a lot of ways.

Mic quality (with the EVGA Nu audio interface) is superb. Very comparable to my Super Cardiod microphone I use for camera reviews (its the Deity D3 Pro, akin in quality to the Rhode Video Mic Pro)

It will come with the headset, standard braided LCD cable with quarter inch termination, new LCD GX thinner cable with mic boom on left termination going out to a 3 prong jack (for laptops/phones) and will come with a splitter adapter that splits that 3 prong jack in the 2 plugs for use with desktop PCs.

I have it paired right now with a Ryzen 3700X setup and a Red Devil 5700XT is on the way. Mic input and audio output is from the EVGA Nu that Audeze sent with it.

Please keep a look out on Headphone.Guru's facebook page and website for more updates on the GX.
