The last song that's given you that spine-tingling feeling.

A lot of 80's new wave does it to me, because of the emotional associations. In fact I can't listen to this sort of stuff on any regular basis, or I become totally exhausted from the emotion.

* OMD "If you Leave," "Secret," "Forever Live and Die" and others
* Simple Minds, "Sanctify Yourself"
* Psychedelic Furs, "The Ghost in You"
* New Order, "True Faith"

and lots of others...

90's music:

* Stone Temple Pilots, "Plush" (one of my alltime favorite pop songs) both plugged and unplugged
* Sneaker Pimps, "6 Underground"
* REM - "Texarkana" "Near Wild Heaven" "Find the River"
* Rage Against the Machine, "The Ghost of Tom Joad"

and others...

Certain classical does this to me as well, some film soundtracks also.

Wow just listened to the whole meddle album. Can I change my vote?

Porcupine Tree: Glass Arm Shattering

The closing track of "Deadwing" my favorite album of 2005 (and just released today). Stellar album, words can't describe how great this record is.

Usually for me this is reserved for new music, since I feel like I've heard most of the old stuff by now...

A couple of tunes from 2005 I like so far:

Kaiser Chiefs - Modern Way

Beck - Broken Drum (Boards of Canada Remix)

maybe a couple tracks off the new LCD Soundsystem CD.

Night Moves - Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band

This song always gives me that chill down my spine, it takes me back to highschool, my first real date, tripple feature at the drive in (American Pop was the movie), upper class woman, and the rest as they say is history. Atleast untill I brought her home an hour late and her dad (the chief of police) was waiting up for us
