Well, I think something is off (or very right) with my KATO sample. It doesn't match the expected FR, but is almost spot on with MOONDROP's VDSF target. Measures the same with other nozzles, tips, and even different cables. Sounds just like it measures too, definitely less bass than the Aria and gets darker quicker as well. I actually prefer the tuning here until it gets to the trebles where it got slightly sibilant before rolling off the cliff. Even so, it clearly doesn't match the set tuning on the product page.

So, when is the Kato supposed to be in the hands of regular people? Or at least a item shipped confirmation?

@shenzhenaudio , I have not received any information about my order. Can you say what is holding up the shipping and/or confirmations?

I got my kato matte, but didn't receive the line k upgrade cable tho I did pre-order it when they offered it, and was also missing 1 other item in my order... this is the first time, that they actually messed up my order.... sigh... hope they'll get back to me and ship me the missing stuffs

Well I just received a package of the matts yesterday. For all the people waiting, I'd say just hold tight. It seems they've had massive demand to make up - I had a month wait after ordering and I'm here in China, which is kind of unheard of when you order via Taobao.

Packaging and accessories etc. are excellent. Hard to believe there's so much for so few $s. I also got an upgrade cable with 2.5mm termination. To be honest I can't offer much in the way of thoughts or comparisons as I'm basically a noob to the IEM world - been a headphone lover/user all my audio life. The only IEMs I've had before were the oBravo Cupids, and didn't really get into them that much - but, the guy I sold it to said there seemed to be a defect in them, and ended up being able to get a replacement. So yeah, I don't have much by way of comparison and am just dipping my toes in this IEM pool.

I see Moondrop recommend at least 10 hours and preferably up to 100 for burn in, so I'll keep any thoughts about sound reserved for a while.

Excellent accessories and packaging. Great detailed sound with good low end body. Just one main problem, just do not stay in my ears. The weight combine with a relatively small form factor make it difficult for me to keep them in. Tried many different tips, acceptable fit with Azla, Final E and Symbio, bad with other brands, but never really secure. Too bad. Will sell like new real soon.
